  • Thank you! I will do that.

Just had some very bad news - not completely unexpected - but still bad enough. Just before Christmas my dad had a heart bypass and also a biopsy on his lung. We have just found out that the cells in the biopsy were cancerous so he is going back into hospital in 2 weeks to have an operation onhis lung to remove more cells and see if there is more cancer.

    Bit numb at the mo...........

Sorry to hear about your dad. I Don't post very often but just wanted to send you a cyberhug.
  • Thank you, that was very kind of you. It probably won't sink in properly til tomorrow. After a "sleep".

  • I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad. The fact that they've found it means they can do something about it and hopefully will have caught it early enough.

I wish I could give more words of comfort but the waiting for results is the worst part.

    Hugs

  • You're right - it's the waiting. One big op before Christmas and now another after. Still, he's eating what my mum has been giving him, he's been resting and the docs want him to build up his strength for the new op.

This has strengthened my resolve to quit smoking when the packet of tobacco runs out...................

Thank you for your kind words......

  • Hi all,

This week has flown past. I haven't been brilliant money wise, did a tiny bit of "me" spending but considering the circumstances! at least I didn't use my debt card.

Still waiting to hear about dad but I saw him over the weekend and he looks better than I expected.

Tomorrow is the day I stop smoking...........got the patches on prescription, stocked up on smart price mint humbugs and warned hubby I will quite possibly be in a foul mood for a while. He said he may move in with his parents! LOL

    So what have I spent?

20.84 silcox/lunch & cash - last thursday, no time to make lunch and needed cash
    20 cash 17th - can't remember for what
13.85 roundabout - fags and lunches
65 asda 18th - monthly freezer shop and some on xmas card thing, + 2 birthday cards, a baby card and a baby present.
9.76 vet - worming tablets for 3 dogs
9.28 chemist - mascara for me and soluble solpeidiene.

Hmmm. Not so great written down!

at least Feb and March no council tax goes out so that will make up some of the overdraft this month and next month.

Ah well...........at least as well I didn't go mad on the debt card. I am rambling now so will stop!

    Take care,

    Xx

  • What a very long weekend. Dad went into hospital Thursday, ready for his op on Friday. They took him to theatre at 4pm and he came back to HDU at just gone 9pm so lots of waiting. He is doing quite well, breathing and looking better than we expected but there agin he is fixed up to an oxgygen mask. I am back home now and won't see him until next weekend.

Non smoking front - I wasn't that great fri, sat and yesterday but that is understandable but am ok today. I came off the patches as they made me feel really ill!

Spending...........yep done that too! £72.11 in pets at home and £17 on a cross stitch site. I decided the fish tanks needed sprucing up (for some strange reason) and bought a load of ornaments and fake plants and fake moss. Well I suppose it all looks very nice now!

    Anyway take care everyone,

    xx

  • Sat morning and the sun is shining, lovely. I cut my grass yesterday so the garden is tidier. Dad is still in hospital, in a great deal of pain and very confused but his doctor says that's to be expected. I will be visiting tomorrow (the hospital is 2 hours away so I can't go every day).

Spent £26.51 today, one of the dogs needed a booster. He was very good and behaved very well, not usually like him!!!

I will need to do a bit of shopping later..........sigh. Why does everything run out in 1 go?????

    How is everyone else?
