Can somebody help me please.
I am so annoyed.
I ordered 3 items from debenhams on the 30th of December with a gift card,
i was looking forward to them being delivered today but instead i get a letter stating that my order has been cancelled due to the gift card payment not being authorised and could i phone them to reorder my stuff with a different form of payment.
I phoned them to be told my order had not been cancelled and that she could see no reson why it would have been as the card was being debited by £19.57 and put me through to some other woman who then said basically the first woman is chatting !!!!!! and my order has been cancelled and did i really think id get away with placing an order for higher than what was on the gift card.I told her the order came to £19.57 and their is £20 on the card so how can that be.She basically said tough crap trhank you for calling debenhams and put the phone down
The cheeky cow!!!!!!!
What shall i do,i want a refund on that gift card as i will not be spending any money in that shop ever again.
Thanks for listening to my moan.

Assuming the card is valid, you have been denied your money's worth. They need to explain why they've acted as they did.
Thirdly, even if they didn't use the flowery language, they seem to have treated you with disrespect. Was the conversation recorded "for training purposes?" Ask them to review the recording, and you might be able to get them to send you a copy (but you'd have to pay £10 for the privilege).
£20 isn't worth pursuing in court, but you should have a chat with your local Council Trading Standards who can advise you about your options better than someone on the internet!
If it seems that someone might have defrauded or stolen from you, you should speak to the cops.0 -

I agree with both Dustangle's posts above. Sounds like pretty rude customer service at best.0

You are able to go to their website and check the balance available on the card, ive done it everyday since the day i placed the order and at no time has anything been taken off it.I even asked (post 26 of this thread) if anybody knew when it should be debited as i thought it was strange nothing had gone off it.I heart The Capital0 -

Went to Debenhams today. The blue cross sale has started. There are very few toys left, but the mens gifts (ie toys for big boys) are mostly 70% off.
I got two flashing ipod nano skins for £4.50 each (from £15) and some portable speakers for the same price and discount. I also got a wireless speaker system (listen to the stereo in the bathroom, etc) for £9 from £30.
Guess whose family all got ipods for Christmas0
