  • I hope you looked for cashback through Quidco? ;)

Of course I don't blame my debt on anyone else. I just think if I'd said something then a whole lot of things would be different. I'm just feeling sorry for myself I think! :o
yeah, one company was offering about £120 cashback but with my claim and lack of NCB the quote ended up about £200 more than my current insurer!

Hugs to you mate - at least you got it out in the open - and your freind is coping too with it. At least you have a real life debt buddy!!

If I had a quid for every time I wish I could go back and do things differently, I'd be paying everyone's debt off!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

if I had the balls to be open and honest back then, then someone else probably wouldn't be in the position they are now.

It is always so tempting to think that your words could change the world. They don't. If you want proof of that, go round telling people that smoking is bad for their health, and they should give up.

Be sure to keep a list of who gives up just because you told them. At least you'll be able to use that notebook for something else afterwards.

And my 2 year lightbulb anniversary was last Wednesday and I forgot about it!

Is you LBM going to go all cold and quiet and withhold nookie for a week? No?

    Doesn't matter then... ;)

  • I can't help but feel responsible. And it's dragged up alot of memories and feelings!

    It's all just a f*cking mess!

I think the memories amd feelings are what's going on here - empathy for your friend and guilt and insecurity. You've come a long way (those car mats - ouch), and you've shifted a lot of debt and become an MSE celebrity, but people close to you don't know all this ... You've been living a double life for - what: two years? - and now your worlds are colliding. Seeing your friend's debts (and possibly car mats) is reminding you of SS 2005 and you're remembering how it feels, that's all.

When you think about it, you've got a lot more to offer her in the way of advice and assistance now than you did two years ago and she may not have been ready two years ago when you started your journey.

You've got lots to offer, and you've let her know now, and you'll support her so that's a lot more than she's likely getting from others friends and family at the moment. That should do it for now, I imagine.

    Best wishes, SS.
