Giving up Diet Coke!

  • Hi Will - Good luck! I gave up DC a few years ago and switched to water and tea instead. My girlfriend still drinks it and I had a swig the other day - it's disgusting! What helped me give up was the increase in marketing it as a 'womans drink' - I actually had no problems giving up. I guess that's why they have invented coke zero for men. Ho hum...

Yeah, Snarfy. You should have gone real cold turkey like me. I've not touched a drop of anything other than water and the very occasional cup of tea for 20 days!

Dr Pepper is just Diet Coke in disguise! :p

It's rather scary how many people are geniunely addicted to this stuff. I mean, people bandy round the word "addiction" all the time without using it properly. But if going cold turkey causes shakes and severe headaches then this is serious stuff. It's frightening!

I have a friend who is constantly complaining of insomnia and it really is quite bad. But she drinks at least 4 cans of DC and 8-10+ coffees a day and hasn't made the connection....

Good luck with this Will, I am fully aware that I drink far too much Coke. Not helped by the fact that we have a free fridge full of the stuff at work...But I will be watching this thread with interest and will certainly be making an effort to cut it down, if not cut it entirely....(there's an addict, right there!)
