I have never had a problem getting through to customer services when I needed to discuss my account at the end of may(they wanted to lower my monthly direct debit as I was in credit but I wasn't happy to lower it as far as they wanted - I know what I use), I also rang them on the 14th july to submit a meter reading as I wanted them to have an accurate reading on the day of the price change (I am on OS7) admittedly this time I used the automated service- got straight through- and two days later I received a bill using my meter readings (don't think bill was due for another month but giving them a reading generated it) maybe I am one of the lucky ones as I have had no problems with them.

What number have you been ringing them on please, I'm a new customer and I have been ringing since the begining of July to try and sort out my old Scottish Power account, as they need the meeting reading to give to Scottish Power, who I reckon owe me over 100.00 once they have the correct reading, and yes I did put a proper meter reading into scottish power two days before and is showing on my account, but they have over estimated 2 days electric by 100.00, where does that come from?

Anyway if someone could help, I would be very grateful.
  • Hi I used 0800 096 9000 this morning at 8.30 and once I had gone through a couple of press one for this press 2 for that options I was advised I was being put through to an advisor and the phone rang twice before pick up. (she did say that was a good time to phone when I said I was surprised I had gotten through so easily.
I am currently on online saver 7 and wanted to swap to fixed 2104 but wanted to make sure there was no early termination fee Great news there is only a termination fee if I switch suppliers so the very nice lady changed me over to fixed 2014 changed my DD and set me up online as I have never bothered trying to do it as alot of people have had trouble doing so. I know I will pay more than currently but piece of mind and when I worked out my cost per year using the no of KWh i have used in the last year I have only got to up my DD by £2 a month (I used to be with atlantic and was paying more then before I went to edf last year so I am used to paying that amount) So a win win really.

Another number I have used with no problem is 0800 051 1906 both are avaliable 8am to 6pm mon-fri and 8-2 saturdays

    Hope that helps someone

There are no termination fees on switching from OS7 to another supplier. The nice lady got it completely wrong. :)

According to the terms and conditions I have when I switched to it last december it says they is a termination fee if I swapped suppliers whilst on os7 before 31st dec 2011 but I think when they announced price rises in june for july 14th onwards they waived those fees if you didn't accept the increase and wanted to leave.
This wasn't an issue for me as I didn't actually want to leave edf just change tariffs so I am happy as when I moved to them I got the £100 bonus and also got £80.80 cashback from topcashback so I am a very happy bunny and I have been online and can see both gas and electric accounts so everything (at the moment) is a ok.
Hope those of you that are still having problems get them sorted soon.

I'll be sacking off my switch to them at this rate. I'm not even sure who my supplier is currently, EDF or N Power who supplied the previous occupiers.

A couple of months ago I decided to change to Fixed Price 2014 but found it impossible to make contact thru advertised 'phone numbers so sent a snotty mail thru their contact area on website. Got call from nice guy who gave me the following number, it works for me:
    01392813962

All sorted now but haven't needed to submit meter readings yet!!

Good luck with the email service - I've tried that a couple of times as I couldn't get through on the phone. You eventually (after several days) get a response that doesn't answer your query - a complete waste of time for me!

In that case I'd be a little worried. The "losing" company needs the opening readings from the "gaining" company to submit accurate final accounts.

I have (successfully) moved to Edf Fixed Price 2014. When I look at my communications from Edf there was a "welcome to Edf" e-mail asking me to logon to MyAccount to get my latest message and submit meter readings.

Did you ever receive (and respond to) a "confirm your e-mail" e-mail? Did you register on MyAccount? Did you receive "welcome to Edf e-mails?

If not all of these it is possible it is *not* all sorted.

The messaging notification system is not that reliable though. I have often found messages in My Account. but have not received any notification of them by email-and yes, I have checked my spam folder.
