Thanks and happy new year to all my MSE friends.

A new year and time to take stock. Here are my debt totals from the last three New Years:

    1 January 07 £49,387.79
    1 January 08 £36591.34 (and £1667.66 savings)
    1 January 09 £31728.97 (savings all gone)

So pretty poor performance last year, despite all the penny-pinching and obsessive focus on money. Time to do something different.

I have various resolutions to do with work too tedious to record. But one that I will record here is to change my attitude to OH. We’re in this together, for better or worse. He has a lot of talent and creativity and we are more likely to turn things round working together than at loggerheads. So my challenge for 2009 is to be nice :A

It has been a challenging year, Seax, and you are in less debt at the end than you were at the beginning, so that is positive.

Good luck for 2009, make it YOUR year!

    Happy New Year

Just looked at your last 3 new years totals your debt has went down each year so thats all good.

I just looked at what my original debt was when i first found the MSE website and my debt has increased by over £12000

Never mind 2009 is going to be the year when we all get so much closer to that debt free date!

Yeah - I love you determination for 2009 too - it is so sad that we tend to realise how much people mean to us when they are gone! So glad you got the tax problem sorted, and, like others have said - your debt is going down, which is amazing really - so keep up the good work! Love xxx:smileyhea
