Morning Seaxwyn..how do the girls feel about it?...I don't know anything about braces so can't really comment.Hope work is going well for you and everything else is ok...take care xxx0

My daughter had braces through secondary school, luckily all through the NHS orthodontal practice attached to our GP surgery. We have a private dentist for ordinary dentistry who didn't charge for under 18s but would have charged for ortho work. Dread to think what they would have charged.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

We have been referred to an orthodontist who will assess the girls' 'malocclusion' (technical term for wonky teeth). If they are deemed bad enough they will get fixed on the NHS, if not, we will have to pay. I already know they won't be bad enough, I would say they are very borderline needing treatment at all. Oh well, we will cross that bridge when we come for it.
Meanwhile I have been chased for £35 fees for their athletics club, which I had forgotten I owed. And £74 'voluntary donation' from the primary school.
On the upside, I had two more offers of work today. I need to work out if I can actually fit them in with everything I've already agreed to do. But it's comforting to know there's so much work out there.
OH is being infuriating. He has got a couple more days teaching at the art school, which means he is not bothering to look for any other work. He hasn't followed up a lead he was given by a friend, who mentioned that the place where he works is recruiting. I looked on their website and sure enough found a job ad that OH could apply for - and which would be his dream job. But he hasn't done anything about it.
Nor is he getting on with the other debt-busting tasks, like reclaiming his bank charges (six years of statements sent by HSBC are just gathering dust in the kitchen). Instead, today he decided to move one of our printers, which meant disconnecting my computer, just when I was having a pile-up of deadlines. Aaaargh!! The only reason I imagine for moving the computer was to stop me having a reason to go out and bother him in his shed (where the printer used to be).
I am so frustrated by his attitude that I feel quite murderous sometimes.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Oh I so so feel for you. I just read your post going "yup", "yup", "yup" in a very empathetic way.
Tell you what - I will help murder yours, and dig up the patio to hide the evidence, if you would kindly return the favour over the next few weeks :cool:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks Hypno - be my guest. He's just patronisingly accused me of 'worrying too much about 5p' (as I was encouraging him to get some ebay things listed today as it's cheap listing day). Oh bother - I have been too busy getting the house sort of presentable for the new student arriving tomorrow that I forgot about ebay today!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That sound like good prioritisation. I'd rather have a tidy house myself. Hope the student turns out to be nice, have you met him/her yet? And do you have to spend a lot of time with them?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Well the house is still a long long way from tidy, but a few of the rooms are a lot better than they were (others.....dining room for a start) have not yet been started. In fact, I have taken a day off work on Thursday JUST to do my dining room
But, it IS getting there, and the good bits pass as "excuse the mess" bits, rather than "please don't come in the house" bits
This student is only here for 3 weeks and we have never had a short term student, and not one through this particular "school" either, so it is a bit "see how we get on".....They sound as though they have a fairly full programme laid on for them, so hopefully there won't be too much additional effort on our part, although being a "taxi" is obviously going to be one of our jobs!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Poor Seaxwyn..glad to see you are getting plenty of work in.Not so good about the bills for the girls. What can I say about your DH I really do feel for you....it must be so frustrating. After all all the hard work you are doing sorting budgets etc is to help the whole family.Sending hugs your way x0

How frustrating! Sorry your OH is being less that supportive - must be very difficult. But the work is flowing in which is really encouraging. Hang in there!0
