Forgot to say - I also invested £1.29 in a bag of raisins so I can enter a competition to win a holiday to California. I would love to win, particularly as two good friends have recently moved to San Francisco.

So if anyone has any inspirations on how to finish 'California Raisins are perfect because.....' (in not more than 12 words) please share them! Or alternatively, go to Julian Graves and pick up a magazine. But entries have to be in on Monday.

'California Raisins are perfect because.....my children will eat them every time they are offered\

best of luck with that Seax.
well done about the press stuff

Californian raisins are perfect because they are Juicily, Satisfyingly, Chewable, Nuggets of Good-For-You-Sunshine Goodness!

Bountiful, that's a brilliant answer, you must enter it yourself! Quick - find a Julian Graves! Or PM me your name and address and I'll enter it for you. Entries have to be in on 30 June so there's no time to dawdle around!

Alas I sent in a much lamer entry, and I realised I'd repeated the word 'perfect' so all in all a loser I reckon.

Hi - I just downloaded the magazine from Julian Graves' web site - only problem is that you have to have a proof of purchase too......and as I am working all weekend it is very unlikely that I am going to get to a shop (there isn't one in my town). I am happy for someone else to use my tie-breaker - could you get your mum to use it maybe - and give you the prize if you win?!

If you really mean that, I will go and buy more raisins tomorow (kids love them anyway) and send an entry in my friend's name with your tie-breaker. But you could send me your name and details and I'll send it in from you - it seems only fair that you get the California holiday!

I am an avid competition enterer and have won lots of small prizes, but never a holiday. I would so love to win one, I was a great traveller in my youth and these days its a thrill to go to the next town.

We have street parties here every other year. I think they had one for the jubilee and enjoyed it so much it's become an institution. They are really good fun, with games and competitions for the children, a sit down tea, then barbeque and bands for the adults. I just hope the weather is OK tomorrow - it's been raining on and off all day today.

I really mean it! You will find this hard to believe, but I'm not that bothered about a holiday in California...... I'd rather take a walk round the coast path with enough dosh on me to stay in a b+b if I fancied it.;)

No I do believe you! I'd feel the same about most long-haul holidays. But I particularly want to go to California as two good friends have (separately) moved to San Francisco and I have an urge to see them. I was thinking about it only the other day. I'll enter your slogan and if it wins, I will send you a voucher for a B&B in Cornwall!
