    Hi Seax
Might now be the time to review those outgoings? That way you can see where maybe your money saving ways have slipped a bit:rolleyes: .

We finally sent of the protest letter today, so maybe we will get a response when we are back of our hol's

Today I had the great pleasure of meeting Karmacat - for fifteen minutes on a chilly railway platform. Karma is LOVELY, as we know from her posts on here. And it was nice and rather strange to meet a DFW friend in in the flesh.

Karmacat gave me some of the fruits of her recent decluttering, including a beautiful hand-knitted jumper, a gorgeous plum coloured leather jacket, slinky tops... A big boost for my very tired wardrobe. THANK YOU Karmacat.

Otherwise... I've been offered another couple of days work but I don't know if I can do it as it involves working in London next week and it's half term. Just hoping that my luck will hold and these offers keep coming in.

I'm looking forward to half term. We are going on a MSE daytrip to France, meeting up with friends in Brighton, and have various kids coming and going. The last few years school holidays have been blighted by me working and having nothing to spend, so non-MSE as it is, I feel OK about spending a little time and yes, money this time. Don't worry, there will be plenty of free bike rides and outings to the park as well.

lovely to hear that you had a nice meeting with karma today. Haven't caught up with you for an age! hows the car?

Good for you for going to france, Don't feel guilty at all we can all have a holiday every now and then and i have no doubt that you will do it in the most MSE way possible.

I think that you will get through ok, I've got the same feeling for march unless some mortgage offers start to transpire, maybe have a look at contingency plans just in case the trouble does arrive, which I have no doubt it won't as you have always been well planned to cover any shortfalls. big hugs P xxx

Thanks P! We pick up the car today, so will hear the damage then.

(That reminds me - must look out the pin number of my new Goldfish credit card to pay the garage. I got £41 from Quidco for applying for that card, but it has only tracked so far, maybe actually using the card will make it validate.)

It's nerve wracking facing a future with uncertain income, isn't it? I hope you get some mortgage customers. Perhaps spring will get people moving, it if ever comes.

As Chev said, I need to review our SOA and work out a real figure we need to bring in each month to meet our outgoings. One good thing about work becoming scarcer is that my tax bill will be smaller, also our tax credits may go up again.

so out with one hand in with the other, thats good.

Yes it is a nerve wracking future, except I consider myself fortunate that I atleast have a basic income coming in so something will always get paid, I'm not sure i fi could stand being self employed and needing the income totally to rely on.

I wish I could get cashback for the creditcard deals, there are so many of them around at the moment, maybe one day hey!!! when my credit rating improves somewhat!! What do the T+C's say on the offer on the quidco website? does it say you have to make a transaction? If not i'd imagine that they are just incredibly slow at paying!!!

Good luck with the SOA, it makes my heart leap to my mouth everytime i work out my monthly budget, slowly getting more used to it though. Any chance OH may be offered more work at the end of the few months?

Car is back - it only cost £154.11 - but still needs a new tyre and the locks sorting. I paid on the Goldfish card so lets hope the £41 validates now.

I wore my gorgeous new faux leather jacket up to the garage and felt a million dollars.

 Hiya [KC blushes madly] - glad you liked them! Like I said, I couldn't just put that hand knitted one to a charity shop, & I couldn't wear it cos of my sensitive skin, so I was glad to give it to a good person. Lovely to meet you - and glad to hear your news today - the car (well, not lovely, but not so terrible as feared), France, and Brighton too. Mums and half term! you're going to be so busy.

You know that train I got on? I had to get off double quick, it was going to Tunbridge Wells, not London.... luckily the London one came in 2 minutes later, and I was just on time. I want another cup of tea now, but I really have to get to bed!

Really pleased to meet you, and hear about the original Seaxwyn, all I'd retained when you first mentioned her was that she was Anglo Saxon.

Have a good Saturday, Seaxwyn and everyone.

Fab for you to meet KC :j and good news that the car was not as terrible as it could have been.

Half term for us is now over - back to school on Monday. I have worked through, with the exception of Tuesday, but I think the children have found plenty to amuse themselves......laying in and lounging around takes SO much effort when you are 13 you know :rotfl:
