Paint Conundrum. Will this ever end?! Can some kind souls please help me?

Hi
Breaking down here virtually!
DD wants to redecorate her room which I've gladly agreed to...
After much umming and ahhing She's decided on purple as the main colour and also wants a complimentary colour to go with. Preferrably a lighter purple.
The purple she'd selected was really rich and luscious looking on the card, but now we've viewed it on Dulux 3d room visualisation thingy. It looks terrible and dull!
She;s searched high and low on the internet and has found this purple which she loves! I can't find not one paint colour which is half nearing to this one. :D
Here's the pic

Does anyone have any suggestions? please :A
Or Mse tips, or vouchers so I don't overload on paint costs!

Thank you for the replies everyone. Wasn't expecting so much helpful advice, (still trawling through it all!)
Being a total decorating newbie, I actually feel quite experienced on the colour choosing front now :) A definite must to buy the testers and not rely on what they look like online etc! I hear ya!
Although the room is an average size a little more on the small side, would you suppose it'd be wise to paint the whole thing purple or choose a complimentary colour? Hopefully not yellow!
DD likes the idea of a purple tint type of thing as white seems too clashy In DD's opinion.....
Would anyone recommend any colours that would sorta match with the whole bright purple scene. Don't wanna make the room seem overly dark or like an explosion in a ribena factory as cycling yorkie says! Hehe!
Any suggestions please?

can't you take a colour into paint shops (B&Q paint section?) and they'll mix and match till they get the colour you want?

Can't they mix colours to order for you now? I thought you just had to take in a sample to Homebase/B&Q/Focus etc and they'd sort it out for you?

This is gonna sound a bit strange, but that never really occured to me. Would any of you two have any ideas on the pricing of having these colours made, hoping its not too pricy!
DD can be pretty fussy with these types of things, would I be charged for them creating a sample and her then deciding she doesn't like it?
P.S I haven't lived in a box all my life, Only some of it xx
    Thanks you two! :)

    SNAP !

My DD has gone away for a few weeks, and wants us to decorate her bedroom, mind you her room is tiny, she wants one wall purple, and the rest off white with lilac tint. And the one she is going to have purple will be decorated with her tv and justin bieber posters anyway.

Find a color you like, and get B&Q / Homebase to scan it and they can make the color up for you. (talking £20 ish) Failing that have a look though the crayola colors, they are gorgeous!!

    Good luck lol

Something that vibrant is probably not going to be on general sale - not enough people are brave enough to make it worth doing a whole run of tins. Its almost certainly going to have to be mixed specially. Most of the DIY sheds will have a Dulux mixing set up where you can look through virtually any colour on the spectrum and get it mixed, even doing it from a scan of a colour sometimes. They will also do a tester pot for £2.50 I think so you can check what it looks like on the wall.

All of that said I would be tempted to try somewhere like a Crown Decorator centre and have it mixed in professional paint. It will cost more per tin but probably cover better so you'll need fewer coats. Something that vibrant is going to look terrible if it goes streaky.

Do you have any idea of this pricing of this custom colour thingy? Got it into my head it'll be way over what I can afford
    Any advice appreciated

those paint mixer thingys don't match the colour - they find the nearest colour in the dulux range and mix that - so it won't be the same.

Little greene have some wonderful colours and are lovely paints to use too - try their palantine or mambo for bright purples that aren't to aubergine/ dull

A little confused now. Will the paint be a close match of the existing ones available or a completely different custom made colour?
Glad that I can buy a tester at first! :rotfl:
