    Great news DM.

We went to baby massage and loved it It cost us a pound for the session which inc, oils, drink and fresh fruit. We loved it. It was only a 6 weej course and that was about enough. We still do it as home now and DD loves it.

It has lots of + ponits it teachs

    LO to relax
inproves Sleeping, breathing and digestive rhythms by inproving blood flow, stenthening the gastrointestinal annd respiratory tract.
    Relieves colic and constipation symptoms,
Enchances LO physical and emostional development by improving the function of LO's brain, heart and liver.
It can give you more confidence with LO too.

Why not give it a go?
  • Just wondered how many people have bought the baby Einstein DVDs/video's for their little ones and which are their favourites?

I've picked up a couple on ebay for my grandaughter who is now 6 and half months(think she's been watching them since 4 months) she absolutely loves Baby Beethoven and Baby Van Gogh, just bought her Baby Bach but although she likes it I think she prefers the other two because of the puppets. She doesn't show a great deal of interest in other children's programmes on the tv, but starts giggling and kicking her legs as soon as the Caterpillar at the beginning of each one appears and loves the classical music.

She's also got the Baby Einstein 'See how I feel' book with a mirror on each page and pictures of 'Vincent Van Goat', she likes to lick the mirrors:rotfl: I look after her a couple of days a week and I must admit I wouldn't be without these DVDs (not that she watches telly all day long but they are great for winding down).

Just wondered how may people have bought the Baby Einstein range for their little ones and which are there favourites?

Just catching up - haven't been on for a while. Seem to be busier now than before Imogen arrived! :D

Re thrush - I sympathise. DD has had oral thrush (and therefore I have it in my breasts) for as long as I can remember, at least 8 of her 11 weeks I think. We've tried a few things, but it hasn't gone. For now she isn't bothered by it and I'm not in pain any more so I'm leaving it be. Bit of advice re the tablets you might take. The antifungals I had to take (Fluconazole) really upset her belly, terrible wind and pain. My HV recommended some new pre-biotic drops which Colief make if we were to take them again.

For the lump, I had one of these too. HV recommended feeding rugby-ball style to stimulate the milk ducts differently. Two days of this and gentle pushing towards the nipple cleared it up just fine. HTH

On bottle feeding - have you tried letting your OH give babe the bottle with you not around? Not sure if this helps but they are meant to be able to smell your milk, so perhaps faced with the alternative that's why babe is screwing face up. We did this for the first few weeks of giving I her bottle and it worked a treat. She now takes a bottle of expressed or formula with no problems.

On baby massage - we did a 4 week course and she really enjoyed it. Now I just do it occasionally in the mornings with baby lotion to moisturise her dry skin and do her belly if she has a bit of wind. She seems to like it.

Sorry for the long post! Had a really rough night last night and she's still not slept through, so we're battling on like zombies at the moment. Oh well, such is the life of a parent...

Hello everyone. It's the first time i have been back to the thread in a while, and it is nice to see some new ideas.

i have to third or fourth the idea of the tommee tippee bottles. My boy switched easily with those bottles, and with a bit of practice, he can drain them. He is almost holding it by himself now, although they are a little bit too heavy for him at the moment.

baby signing i noticed this yesterday and was very enthusuastic about it and started doing it immediately with DS. HE thought it hilarious. This website has videos of a woman making the signs, which i found more useful than the other website recommended because my brain works better that way - plus it is free so truly MSE.

It looks good for something to get my brain around something different, and i am going to show my nephews (6, 3 and 1) how to do it too, so they can talk to my little one.

I have ordered the 2 DVDs by this company for £15 from amazon on the strength of a good vibe i had about it. Thought i could say it was an Easter treat for Charlie as he is too young for the chocolate. I'll report back if they are any good.

    Michelle, x

Lu T - remember 11 weeks was the break through stage for Charlie sleeping through, so i don't think you will be too much longer. now he wakes us up at 6 because he has wriggled to the top of his cot, got stuck and lost all his toys.

I so wish...lol. W is still getting me up twice in the night - draining 200ml bottles each time - so he is definitely hungry. Oh well, he'll sleep through eventually - and some day he'll be a teenager who never gets up...

    (11 weeks and counting...)

Hi J's other half - our little ones must be close together. Can't remember when you had yours. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a full night soon.

Have you tried more regular feeds? I switched her back to 3hrly from 4hrly. Been doing this for just less than a week now, so keeping my fingers crossed! Have seen a baby today who didn't sleep through until 18 weeks though and he's now waking up hungry as he's being weaned!

Have picked up a leaflet about sing & sign at our local community centre and will look at all the websites. Thanks all.

Don't despair about sleeping through-my dd was 16 weeks when he finally slept through-he used to wake at 3am on the dot and I gradually gave him less and less at this feed until we were down to 3oz of formula( I only breastfed for a month as we had a bad start where he nearly died from dehydration as he wasn't getting enough milk from me and the midwife didn't pick it up. Long story but I never felt confident about breastfeeding after all that!) We were on holiday and I went to warm the bottle and he had fallen asleep by the time I got back. I never fed him at that time again-i used a dummy to settle him back to sleep but he stopped using that by the time he was 5 months. I dropped the 10.30 dream feed when he was 6 months and since then he has slept 7-7 and if we're really lucky 8 at the weekends so we got there in the end. I used to be sooo envious of the people who said their baby slept through the night from 3 weeks! I found the Little contented baby book routines worked really well for Ben but I know some people find them a bit restrictive. I found they worked well for me as well because he has a 2 hour nap 12.30-2.30 when I can catch up on housework and if I am feeling really virtuous I can do a workout dvd!
