    Side track a bit

Desire S has meant to have Gorilla Glass, should not crack.

Oh yes it does crack - just dropped mine yesterday and it now has a 'lovely' crack in it... This is how I found this thread :(

Well I'm not going to go out and spend £400 on a brand new phone when I can get one for a £50 excess.

If you can say that you would do that, you are a liar.

    I wouldn't and I'm not a liar, nor a fraudster.

The screen costs £10 on average you can get it for this price on EBay with all tools required to disassemble your HTC Desire S.
There are youtube video tutorials of how to disassemble a HTC Desire S.
I fixed mine but it did take two hours, looking back it might be worth the £40 to repair from an unoffical repair shop.

I dropped my Desire two weeks ago and shattered the screen. I took it straight into a local repair shop and had a new screen fitted and working 40 minutes later for £30.
