I buy phone insurance then wait a week/month and put a claim in.
I am sure NO ONE has ever done that before.
Jeez.
You'll find the closer to inception you claim, the more checks the insurance company do to ensure you aren't comitting fraud.
I've worked with this sort of thing before and I can tell you for nothing if you claim that close to starting a policy you will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the damage occurred on the date you claimed it to have.
No one here is going to endorse comitting fraud.
Just have it repaired and pay the cost.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I believe that when you buy certain unit, they have what they call service warranty for repairs. Try to check if your phone is still under the repair warranty, then if not, better check if how much will it cost you to fix it and compare it with the cost of the insurance and the time of the repair between two alternatives. I have once drop my phone but good thing, it is under the repair warranty so I only buy the parts but the services are free.0

Warranties don't cover things like this - warranties are there to repair the phone if it goes wrong as a result of a manufacturing defect, not if the owner damages it.

I had the same problem with my HTC Desire. Contact HTC and they will give you a quote and arrange to have your phone collected for repair.
I paid £94 for a replacement screen and front casing (it was also damaged when I dropped the phone). Whole process took about 2 weeks and I was able to track progress online via the HTC website.0 -
Its still fraud and puts up the cost of insurance for everybody. Why do you deserve special treatment at the expence of others?
EDIT: Anyhow you got your phone in April and I don't think insurance companies accept old phones on their policies. Probably for the exact reason that you are planning.
I agree....Halifax does an ultamate award account that you pay 15 quid a months for loads of diffrent insurance i have my and G/F white iphone insurad on that one rather than the content insurance cos they dont put the premuims up if you claims.. thou had to say i got my iphone 4 and 3 days later i drop it and smash it so made a claim which i was worried they think im frauding them but thought, nah i was insure from the start so let them think what they want and got a brand new one. Also claims on a new TV still premuims hasnt gone up and all legal... so my contents insurance has gone down cos not claiming on that one... insurance there for a reason... if it broke claim if you have no insurance and it broke... then your fault and live with it simple...0 -

You have a phone worth £325, but no home contents insurance?
So, should your home burn down, you''ll be left with a nice shiny phone, but nothing else.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
consider buying new screen will cost about £10 or so direct websites like deal extreme? from hong kong or even off ebay sell these then pass phone with new part to a repair shop for them to do the business else if your handy with solder do it yourself.
should cost you about £40 plus parts.0
