A hotspot is an area in your home that if not watched carefully becomes a dumping ground. Not for big things but small stuff like mail, bits and bobs that people just chuck down as they come through the door. For me it's a basket in the living room, if I'm not careful with it then it explodes on me every now and again.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

'Phew.... first time I've sat down since I last posted.
Sink shined, dishes done
Kitchen surfaces reorganised and cleaned (inc medicine boxes) still no room for georgie foreman
My bed striped and in wash
My matress topper taken outside and beaten with bats (that was fun)
Matress hoovered
Bedroom floor hoovered
Bedroom dusted
Bedroom tidied (got rid of christmas bits lurking there and all christmas gift guides)
Whites washed & on line (& then off because of hail, & back on again, lol)
Garden cleared (dog)
Under sofa cushions hoovered and sprinkled with borax (dog had fleas a week ago -seem to be gone now)
There is still a mountain to be done - but the improvement is visible already.
I think I'll hoover the living room & tidy the pressies and then that's it for the day as [STRIKE]need to nip to asda (hope to bag a bargain)[/STRIKE].need to forage through the cupboards (just found out Asda is closed!!!)
Going to have a nose to see what everyone else has been up to - hope you're all getting on well,
Love
Kaz x
PS - I've done more than a 27 fling boogie - lost count. Wish I'd known about the feng shui thing first and I'd have aimed for sets of 27, lol
Christmas card list was done on pc when I wrote the cards. I tend to send to everyone regardless of whether they reach me or not 'cause I can be a mare and not get it done in time myself frequently, lol.
(oh, and I think I messed up and mixed up the new postage rules this year - I was really late posting so rather than wait for the PO to open and risk missing the post I stamped all that I had with the stamps I allready had. I thought it'd be ok as they all fitted through the post thingy (you know the width slot template??? ) but a friend says that they have to fit through the template both ways - is that right? If it is I'm going to have a lot of people hate me unless the PO were in a festive mood....January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

We used to have a family ritual - tree etc in on one daughter's bday (8 Dec) and out on the other's (3 Jan). Now they don't live here I am desperate to clear up and start a new year, but am stuck with a sulking 60 year old who won't get rid of anything until 12th night!! I can't physically do it myself, so am feeling VERY frustrated.
So far I have done:
2 washes out
Sparkled bathroom
Moved Christmas chocs etc into pantry
Returned spare bedding to where it lives (guest bed)
Paid bills
Bought granddaughter's next bday present from online sale (at http://www.clarkcraft.co.uk/)
Written yet another stroppy email to hopeless ISP (if they don't get their act together I am going to stop making excuses, and migrate). I know that's not very interesting, but seeing in print might make me do it.
This afternoon:
Make soup
File papers

Im gonna give this a try, been inspired by everyones efforts here!
Cards already cut up into next years card toppers and gift tags and the rest in blue bin. Decs was taken down on Saturday and have all been put away in the loft till next year inc all new ones we have bought in the sales. Have thrown out so much over the last couple of days so I think I have the 27 items more than covered and my sink is a black stone type thing (granet?) which doesnt give a shine but my taps are clean0 -
Woohoooo I am so proud of myself. I have got all the deccies down by myself! Not a mean feat considering I am afraid of heights and have a severe ladder phobia due to an accident at work.
But I gritted my teeth and got the step ladder out, even climbed to the top to get a couple that had been fixed in the corner behind the tv. My hands were shaking so much I could barely fold them up afterwards but it's all been done and the boxes are just waiting to go in the understairs cupboard. I can't do that until DH gets up at 5pm as I will wake him up rooting around in there.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Well done Moggins - I hate heights as well. Just found the thread and am going to join in. My house is so much better since I found your first flylady thread, the kitchen and bathroom are always "company ready" and the whole of downstairs pretty good, just the bedrooms to tackle.
I won't be taking down the tree or decs till 12th night but you've spurred me on to go through the boxes of old decs I've not used and either save them for dd or give to a charity shop.

I've made a start, can't reach some decs even with my step ladder as I am too little
so will have to wait until DP will help. Have took tree and the other ones down. Washing up done, sink done. 27 fling started... Benches started in kitchen, cupboards all wiped down, feel like I am fighting a loosing battle in the sitting room with the dogs and kids
noone helping so been hiding in the kitchen doing what I can in there or it just makes me angry and upset, feel like a slave today, all the kids have done is shout scream and yell orders, it's getting to me a little. Anyway I've had 5 to type this because my back hurts, going to start again now, wish me luck.
Just want to get it done and have more time with the kids & my partner, without all this clutter and mess, and be able to take control again so housework isn't a constant huge chore. Once it's 'sorted' it'll be easier to keep on top of.One day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Good luck Lil Me!
I know how it feels when no one is doing anything to help. Just hold your breath and count to 10 and remind yourself that you are doing this for you and no one else. School starts again soon.
I've been very lucky today because although no one else is helping, no one is hindering either and have all stayed in their rooms.
The goose is now in the oven and all I have to do is the hoovering. I am taking 15 before I start again as I've just had to bleach the coffee table and it still hasn't removed the paint DD spread all over it.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
