Just grabbing a very quick five minutes online before icing chocolate cake for the children to take to school (saves a fortune on snack money!).

I haven't had a list as such for today, but I did find time to write an important letter, which had been hanging over me since the start of the Christmas holiday.

This afternoon, DD and I retired to her room armed with binbags, boxes and some Christmas choccies, and emptied it entirely of its contents as I had promised to redecorate. I only have eight days left before I start a course, and I just won't have time then until the Easter holidays. I was sorely tempted to hire a skip and just transfer everything to it, but relented and have stacked it in the sittingroom behind the sofa. Fingers crossed that it only stays there for a week! At least it isn't visible!

Will be very short of time tomorrow, as I'm working in the morning, and preparing for decorating pm - so hoping for a short list.

Please tell me, am I the only one on here who has lists for all sorts of things? I like crossing them off as done - and yes, on a bad day I have been known to start the list with several things i've already done just so I can feel better when they're crossed off at once??!! :o

i do exactly the same - makes me feel like I've achieved something!! apparently its an indicator that its likely that you're a 'J' on the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator (MBTI)

Well, after a lazy day spent in my pjs, ive actually ended up doing quite a lot today!!!
Upstairs is all clean and hoovered, bathroom, toilets and kitchen are clean, and the children and i are bathed and clean as well!!! Just need to sort a few more drawers in the kitchen, and then those hot spots are done. My bedroom does have 'stuff' in it, but its all been listed on ebay, so will be gone next week, if not sold, it will be going to the charity shop.
Also have some more paperwork, but thats ready in a neat pile ready for my 30 minutes tomorrow.
The WM and DW are on, so will need to empty them when they finish, and i also need to re make my bed (the reason its still to be done, is that im hoping DD will go to sleep in her own bed tonight, if mines not made, she cant get into it!!!) but until then, im sitting down with a nice cuppa!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely evening, and will be relaxed enough before flying again tomorrow!!!!!

lol - no not at all! it's just a personality profiling thing. just helps you understand how you work a bit more! sometimes workplaces etc get you to do them. do a google for myers-briggs online and you'll find some stuff. there's a couple of free ones onine i think. i'll hunt round for a decent one and start a new thread - would be interesting to see what type other OSers are!

Moggins what have you done???!!! :D
    I am soooo proud of myself :j :j :j

Haven't been on since about last Wednesday, except to check what I should be doing each day.

I've done everything that's been listed, except for some paperwork, and all the daily things as well!

Everytime I've gone upstairs, I've taken a plastic bag with me, gone into the spare room and grabbed 27 things, shoved them in the bag very quickly, and then rushed down into the garage to dispose of them! :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Hubby thinks I've gone mad!!:rotfl:

Thanks to all of you for keeping me going and spurred on to have a tidier home in 2007.

    Take care

    Evening all,

Well if you'll have me i'm going to bite the bullet and join your challenge. I have had a productive couple of days so feel like i'm in the right frame of mind to thing about getting things more organised. Still feel like there is a mountain to climb but with your help and support i am going to give it my best shot. The problem mainly is that i have suffered PND for the best part of 5 years so things in the house have gone by the wayside as i somedays struggle even to get dressed, make a meal and see to my two boys. But today is a good day and i have set about trying to make changes that will hopefully help me in my recovery. My DH spent most of yesterday sorting the finances out, transfering balances etc.

    THINGS DONE TODAY INCLUDE

    *food shopping done
    *returned broken contract phone
    *sorted and cleaned crockery cupboard
*cleared out and washed food cupboard
*washed out another cupboard and juggled food around so it's easier to see what i have
    *cleaned cereal cupboard
    * sorted out medication box
*beef casserole already cooked for tomorrows dinner
    *sink cleaned and shone
*2 loads of washing done and dried

Just about to start meal planning for next week now i know what we have in the cupboards.

    JOBS FOR TOMORROW

    *wash my beddingDONE
*sweep and wash downstairs floorsDONE BUT NOT THOROUGHLY
    *clean kitchen windowsDONE
    *iron 30 itemsDONE
*spend 1/2 hour tidying bedroom (looks like a bomb has hit it!!)DH HAS SPENT $ HOURS TIDYING< SORTING< CLEANING ETC AND IT'S LIKE A NEW PIN
*go out for a long family walk with our 2 boysDONE
*bake some buns with boysGONE TO FRIENDS FOR TEA
*make sure meal planner is completeDONE

So i'm pretty proud of myself and DH and want to thank you all for giving me inspiration to try and get sorted out.:T :T :T

    Rebecca xxxxxxxxx

P.S also want to list two items on EBayNOT DONE
DID DO LOADS OF EXTRA IRONING AND SIX LOADS OF WASHING AND DRYING PLUS DINNER PREPARED FOR TOMORROW

As you can see me and DH have had a really productive couple of days. I want the momentum to continue so if i flag please kick me up the bum. Just sorting out what needs doing tomorrow and then i'll let you know my routine.

Added to the done I did the socks :( I hate that job and there was 2 sacks full, but then I found another bag just as I had put the rest away so it can sodding well wait until another day, but I know I don't need to buy any more now, kids must have 40 pairs of pants and socks each at least!

My other 2 pet hates were also sorted, undies sorted and into drawers, and the mega big pink bag in my hall, which contains gloves, hats, scarves and whatever else gets thrown in (found some baby reins, bit small for my 6 year old I think so will give them away) anyway I went through the lot, threw the baby ones out :o and the odd ones which won't fit me, kept the other oddies for dog grooming and cleaning jobs and put in dogs box, so now I know next week I don't need to buy my kids more gloves or me, as I have 4 pairs and they have 12 between them  see saves you money this sorting out lark.

Kids clothes out ready for school in morning, intend getting them dressed, teeth done and washed before they dash downstairs and breakfast before the TV goes on, never done it before so will see how many tantrums I get :rotfl: I will get them organised and to school on time if it kills me!

My reward I had a long soak in bath :D which was lovely in my nice clean tidy bathroom!

Well done everyone, see you all in the morning bright and early for the start of the week!!

(PS I do my list the night before, then add Moggins list to it and type it onto here, sometimes I have done little bits of it before I post it, all depends when I have chance to put PC on/get near it!)
One day I might be more organised...........

    Mondays Mission is:

Do dailies including at least one load of washing

Living room - Hoover, dust, remove sofa cushions and (after checking for change) hoover those sofas. Tidy away anything that shouldn't be there. Check for cobwebs, hoover hallway and take up anything on stairs that needs to go up into bedrooms.

Tackle one hotspot and file away any post that needs to be kept and has been dealt with.

    Make any important phone calls.

See if there is any part of the evening meal that you can prepare in advance.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

  • Reading all the threads on here, most people are able to have a big clean up/tidy once a week and only tackle certain areas every day.

My house is like a wreck every morning and I never sit down, constantly cleaning, tidying, etc. I never relax. My standards aren't high but my house never looks tidy, clean it always looks a mess. Would love a cosy, lived in look, but clean and tidy house. Any tips.

Always decluttering, but makes no difference. One of my new year aims is not to buy any more clutter (really hard!).

    Thanks
    now mum of 4!!!
