I just knew the scary bedroom was going to turn up today - it's the general dumping ground. I don't have any storage at all for my clothes, so my best ones are in the boys' new wardrobe, and the rest are in a pile on the floor, there are enough magazines and books (not all mine) to stock a small branch of Smith's, and I still haven't got rid of the things that came out of the boys' room when I redecorated last year and which they didn't want to have back...

    Help!!!

I did all yesterday's except for the hotspots, as spent far too long helping DS1 to set up the wireless network (still not working properly...)

Okay, okay, I'm too afraid of the star Fliers on here to chicken out of this now, so will have a coffee and a chocolate biscuit to fortify myself and then I'll give it a try. I know I can manage to open the window!!

emsmum I have three teenagers, and am trying hard to stick to my belief that their room is their responsibility, but when I can't get from the door to the window, or hoover more than a square foot then I do tend to throw a hissy fit, usually including something like ' anything on the floor tomorrow morning is being bin bagged'...

  • Hi!

This is the first time i've posted on the flylady challenge but after reading through aload of posts it has inspired me to try and join you!

I have two babies under 18 months and I find it a real struggle to get anything done around the house. Everything seems to pile up around me and it never gets done. When me and DH finally do get round to doing anything, it takes us both a full day of hardcore cleaning to get through it! I spend 6 hours (yes six!) in the laundrette doing washing last month to try and catch up on the mountain that needed to be done. I've fallen behind again as there is now 4 full ikea bags sitting in the utility room waiting to be done.

The in-laws are coming over to babysit tomorrow and are staying over and as per usual, the house is a state. It all feels so overwhelming sometimes I could just cry!

It made me laugh when i read about getting dressed to your shoes as I very rarely get out of my PJ's! I'm constantly feeding, changing nappies and genrally clearing up the chaos that my kiddies leave in their wake! When they are in bed, I usually collapse in a heap with a cold flannel over my forehead, lol! I am always tired as i'm up during the night several times with both babies so I have no energy whatsoever.

If anyone has any tips or advice to offer I would be most grateful!! Anyway, my baby boy has just fallen asleep in his swingy chair and my baby girl has just gone to nursery so i'm going to try and get some stuff done while its quiet!!

    Morning everyone,

This is the challenge I have been dreading .. not the BEDROOM!!!  Help!!! I am terrified of going in there, ...................
    dj

Oh, me too, me too!:o It's going to take more than one day in there (it's where everything that hasn't got a home ends up, and also I'm rubbish at getting rid of old clothes - 1year? pah! I have stuff going back years, stuff that fits SOMETIMES etc, etc.) I have been trying to do the "throw away 5 things a day" in there but seem to have come to a halt with that one. Sigh.
In fact the room really needs decorating, but the sheer amount of stuff in there is daunting. Got a friend coming over for lunch who I know will give me the kick I need, so will definitely make a start later on (maybe just one corner:p )
Have already done all the daily stuff, though - WMx2, BM, vacuuming etc and also made leek and potato soup for lunch and been to Post Office.

Hi I joined in on this on Wed. so far I have not managed to do one daily task, but my sink shines and i was so proud of it last night, I got up in middle of the night to look at it again! How sad. LOL. I am not too bothered about keeping up, because I have been doing the evening/morning routine and I am much more organised in the morning now, that I am going to work less stressed and come home much more eager to do something.

It will take me a week to do todays challenge so I am going to do it over the weekend.

Can I ask two stupid questions?

    What is 27 Fling boogie

And I know what a hot spot is (I think) but what am I meant to do with it. LOL LOL

pink butterfly: i so know that feeling!!!! :grouphug: - mine are 17 months apart and oh boy did i struggle the first year

my advice? take it easy the first year or so :D
are you bf'ing too? that takes lots of energy out of you on its own!
we've just turned the '1 year' corner and it starts getting easier now.
the kids can entertain each other / themselves - that alone is a major help!!!
and they just need you since they are still so young.
but best to do i'd say try and get a 'to do' list with things that need doing, things you'd like to do, and things that you can do later.
i know now you don't get much sleep anyways but putting in these extra 10min to for example get the clothes out in the evening for the next day helps me alot. or set the table in the evening for breakfast. put the cereals in already, or powder in the bottle ... things like that. you'll appreciate them in the morning when you are on autopilot :D

don't give up and moan away if needed. i am certain someone will come up with a great idea and lots of help :grouphug:
