I'd never heard of flylady before until I someone provided the link in one of the other forums yesterday. Just taken the first baby step and cleaned the sink. This inspired me to start on the bedroom as I haven't seen the floor in there for months.
It's nowhere near finished but I'll carry on with it tomorrow. I hope I can keep this up as my house is full of clutter and has needed doing for so long. Deep breath and baby steps!!!!Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323

Hi, loving this thread. Something to get me motivated at last. Managing to keep up with the tasks even though it is only day 2! A few people have mentioned a control journal, have you got any tips on where to start?
Have seen them mentioned on the flylady site but can u make your own?

PenPen - I've never exactly followed Flylady to the letter feeling that it can be a bit too americanised and they use terms and have rooms that we've never even heard of over here and also that they only tackle one room per week, the challenge helps to accomplish things a little faster than that.
I've just been posting a mission plan for the next day every evening like I did before I had to leave the site for a while but if everyone would feel better following Flylady to the letter then please people let me know.
I'll hold off posting tomorrows mission until then.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi all, come home from work had tea, shined sink, took down cards and vacuumed dining room.Off to find 27 things to throw. that'll be easy with all the rubbish we have hanging about.
Best thing we've done in our house this month is buy a spike for receipts. You know how when you want to check your bank statements or take something back that you've bought and can't find the recipt cos you put it in a safe place (so safe you can't find it) well our spike has solved all those problems. The very crafty among you could probably make one but I'm not quite so fly yet!0 -

I can do this. Need to spend the next couple of hours in my office but afterthat am gonna go for it.
So plan of action is -- Swish bathrooms -done
- Hoover upstairs landing and stairs -done
- Hoover living room and dining room - done
- Dust and wipe dining room - done
- Ensure ironing done and put away - ironing put away but todays washing not ironined
- decorations taken down - done - must be put away - done
Havnt listed in correct order - but hopefully all will be ticked off later anyway.
Quite pleased with myself, wanted todays washing ironed and to wash kitchen floor but tomorrow is another day. Probably wasnt worth getting ironing board out for a little pile (well thats my excuse). Did do quite a lot of paperwork though.0 -

Moggins,
I like your way! I tried reading the flylady stuff and got confused. Well done a lot, but missed a few, need to catch up on them tomorrow. Ended up out most of the day for the birthday treat which put a spanner in the works, pleased I got up early and made a start!
Personally, I'll follow anything that works, just need someone to kick me up the backside and help me get organised! Did find the flylady emails a bit too much personally. And I don't do shoes, not until I have to go further than the gates, but I now have my shoeslippers and use those instead
Did my shopping online aswell as the list so thats sorted and making what I have in last a little longer by delaying the order until ThursdayOne day I might be more organised...........
