    calming vibes floating your way.

Baby steps remember.. you are trying to run already!!

Look at one pile and deal with that pile.. how long has the level of mess taken to build up?? a year? 2 years? 10 years?? You think you can clear it in 1 day! .. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your mess.. you can nuke Rome but you can't nuke your mess.. lol

I've been at this heap for 3 months roughly and have JUST!!! got it controllable.. it isn't tidy by a long shot but it is getting there. I still have an 'indoor garage' (read playroom) half a kitchen and 3/4 of every other room.. but we'll get there!!!!

The first time is always the worst.. next time you won't have left it to build up so long so it will be easier and quicker to do.

    (((hugs))) It isn't entirely overwhelming!

    Hi Moll,

and so was my house, but I started a few weeks ago, and although I haven't done all the things every day, I have tried, and it is incredible the difference it has made.

If you do just one thing, like shine your sink, then you can celebrate that as an achievement! Then, tomorrow, wash up, wipe the sink clean and shiny again, then wipe down the worktops. Admire! See, a little bit more each day, and it all adds up.

I was doing fine at the beginning cos moggins was only giving rooms that I already had just about under control - but I cracked the day the master bedroom came up! (True, you'll find it somewhere on the thread!) So, I did 15 minutes only, with the timer on, and then had a break, then did another 15 minutes later. Just that time has made a difference, and I know that if I stick at it, eventually those 15 minutes will add up to a room that is clear and tidy enough for me to actually clean it!

  • Well, here I am back from w**k and just eating some soup. I started at lunchtime, but don't have the littlies around, so was able to do alot before I went........

    Mondays Manic Mission
Plan of action for today is

Dailies WMx2, TD, emptied DW and started to refill it, SC on for dinner, quick tidy in each room, put away one load of washing - one lot still lounging in the WM as I started it off just as I was leaving for w**k.

Main Bedroom rather than living room for me today but includes the same-ish jobs:D , hoover (moving furniture not just around it), dust, clean lightswitches and skirting boards, wipe down tv screen, clear hotspots. done

Dining room, hoover, dust, polish table, use nice table cloth, clean skirting boards. Clear hotspot. clean light switch. done

Hallway, hoover, clear cobwebs, dust skirting boards and dust any pictures.done

Nightime routines. I'll start those after i've finished my soup

Thanks everyone, especially Moggins, feeling like I'm not the only one spurs me on to achieve a little more rather than sitting on my bum grumbling about it! ;)

Cos today is the kitchen and bathroom! Plus toilet if you have a separate one like me.

Empty worktops and clean them, put stuff back after giving everything a good wipe over. Clean cooker and OVEN!!! wipe down cupboard doors, hoover and mop floor. Clean fridge and chuck anything that is turning GREEN!

Clean bath, sink, tiles, mirrors, skirting boards and doors, shine taps, find 5 out of date bits of makeup or toiletries to chuck out. Clean bog!

Don't forget dailies and nightime routines.

Well after a pretty good day my drain in the conservatory overflowed and I had to lift the sealed unit and clear away slimy stuff, use carpet cleaner to suck up water. So off to shops for caustic soda tomorrow to give them a flush through.

    So my dailies list is:-

    Put ironing away
    Put WM on
    Put BM on
    Get DD to playschool
    Swish bathroom & loos
    Swish lounge
    Hoover all downstairs
Shampoo conservatory carpet (again - only did on Friday!!!)
Buy caustic soda & candles from handymans
    Books to library

Will leave list at that for mo and wait to see what Moggins has in store for us tomorrow.

And she posted as I was typing - not too scarey a thought as had good clean through last week.

Did my daiy stuff, attacked the sitting area of the livingroom only (pulling the furniture out ;) ) as I had to move the CD's/DVD's/Video unit (the wall it was against was starting to go mouldy  ), mounted the extension lead where we plug in the TV etc like I've been meaning to do since...erm we moved in :o, and put up a picture. Also deep cleaned the fire which involved taking it off the wall (I'm okay doing that before anyone panics...the man who does our gas safety certificate has shown me how and made sure I can do it safely ;) ). Managed to do 3 loads of laundry as well.

When I got back from the school run I attacked outside, cleaned the livingroom window, swept the front (including the road where there were dirty nappies & broken glass from run-away bins last week  ), cleaned the brass.

Just watching Num3ers and then I'm off for an early night. Planning on tackling the diningroom/home office tomorrow and a quick clean up in the kitchen....all depending of course as to what moggins sets tomorrows tasks as ;) I also plan on washing some curtains if things go my way ;) Off to watch Num3ers or I will loose track of the story line :rotfl::wave:

Okay, cross posted with Moggins... :rotfl:

Only need to take on the fridge (might defrost the freezer...if I can dig out my freezer bags to put the food in ;) ) as the rest of the kitchen stuff is more or less my dailys anyway :j Plus I haven't used the oven since I last cleaned it :D

As for the bathroom I've not long decluttered it so there's nothing to throw out and the jobs are mainly on my daily list as well :j

This is getting much easier for me :D Maybe I'll start adding ebaying to my list ;)
