Morning Everyone,
Hope you all had a good weekend. Monday morning seems to come around so quickly! While hubby was at home to help with our 2, I blitzed the bathrooms and all the rooms upstairs. We moved to our new house a few months ago. We are lucky enough to have two bathrooms and a downstairs loo, so there is quite a lot of cleaning involved. I thought that by blitzing them and then doing "swish and swipe" daily, it will really help me to keep on top of it all. Big thank you to lil_me for the website with all the charts, scedules etc. I had a look at it yesterday and used a few ideas to come up with a daily/weekly chart, and another chart for planning meals. It was really helpful so thanks again :T I now feel ready to really get on with things. I got hubby to check forum out at the weekend so he could understand why all these charts were going up, and why I was flying round the house....Moggins; I think you have even inspired him so thank you! :A
Nearly finished dailies then off to do the lounge. Quick question....does anyone know how to get baby formula out of the carpet? Tried a carpet shampoo but it just won't liftHave a great day x

Hello and welcome!!!
Hotspots are those areas prone to build up clutter.. you know you get that letter and dump it on the heap?.. that's it! The corner up the ceiling in junk and mess.. there's another one!!
Oh yes!! whipping grown up (or almost grown up) children is a must.. they need to be trained so their houses are neat and tidy once they leave!
I have a large house too and it WAS!!! a complete slum. I now have floor with carpet, worksurfaces, a landing!! and useable spaces in most rooms.
My suggestion.. DON'T try to catch up just do it as we go along or you lose motivation. If you WANT to do more once you get on a roll (yes this evens ahppens to a pig like me lol) you can look at somewhere else than. Don't burn yourslef out doing too much at once. You need to do a bit, have a break then start again. Many people find having a timer helps so they know they only have 15 minutes or 30 minutes and can watch the time pass, personally I dig in and stop once it is done. Once you've done somewhere a good clean you can go back over it easily then.
You'll get through, it only LOOKS a lot.. once you get into the swing it is much easier. Plus having it written here and everyone can see what you've left off your list or 'failed' to complete you soon step up the pace!
Some of these here put lazy ones like me to shame, don't be put off by them they just live to scrub! lol.. MOST of us are quite bearable.. apart from that Moggins.. she is a right old slave driver!! Gives us loads of really hard jobs.. clean the childrens rooms she says.. That was me gone for the best part of 4 days!

jojo.. you scrub it!!! No other way I've found!! The water has to be as hot as possible to dissolve it them it soaks out with a towel or something and then just whizz over with a shampooer to get the residue out.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Right, rant first then work, sons appointment cancelled just as we were going to set off, so just got back from dropping him off at school. Puppy made a mess agin so had to clean that up. DP been in a flap all morning so been helping him sort the car out and getting his suit pressed before he set off for the funeral. Confession - didn't do dishes last night, son woke, went to settle him and dozed off so have all the Sunday dinner dishes and cooking things to wash up now, I am NEVER doing that again!
Right today
[STRIKE]Do that washing up
Extra load of laundry
Wash floor cushions
Clear car out (inside as DP been using it for work
Several calls to make
Sort paperwork pile I found
Moggins list
Dailies [/STRIKE] seeing as we're out for dinner I'm done early :j
Post eBay parcels and bills
Make some fruit loaf
Take kids to Mister Twisters 6-8 (having dinner there)
Niight time routine (inc bathing & putting boys to bed)
Welcome to all the newbies, pleased those charts helped Jojo I use them all the time. If you register they send you updates of new ones too.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
thanks lil_me, I will register with the site; I feel a bit more organised having the schedules; it is not such a mountain to climb having the housework spread out across the week. Thanks for the advice about baby formula pigpen. My youngest has taken a liking to shaking his milk and spraying it all over the lounge (and I thought it would be easier after we had gone through all the weaning!!!) I cannot believe how much chaos and mess 2 toddlers can cause! They seem to move from room to room with me running behind them cleaning it all up! I'll remind them of this one day! :rotfl: x0
