    Well -

Decs and tree are down and back in the loft for another year. Thanks for that - I would have left them til tomorrow and had to iron and do tree and everything else. Didn't have to do the christmas card thing as I always note down names and addresses and add to the list as they come in.

And in doing the above the main living area is hoovered and dusted to within an inch of its life

Hotspot of stairs tackled (one down) Stuff tends to congregate on the stairs, ostensibly to go up them but in reality to sit there until required again.

Sink shiny (had to go in after DH had washed the dishes and give it a good wipe and empty the plug - he never bins the bits that collect in the bit collector)

    Thanks again

    I'm ready for tomorrow.

  • Hi Moggins and everyone, What a brilliant idea .It really helps to focus rather than be panicked into not doing anything at all because it all seems too much!
I'm back at work tomorrow but this will really help my resolution to get more organised. The kids won't know what's hit them.

Sorry to be thick. Is tomorrow's list:

dining room, hall, landing and 30 mins paperwork? Presumably the shiny sink as well?

Made a good start today. Will hopefully keep on top of things with your help! Thanks for doing this thread, Moggins.

I did say i would restart on new years day after being away for the past week. Both me and the baby have got a stinky cold, but will do the best that i can, particularly when DH is back at work tomorrow.

Today we have been out for lunch at my mums for a large part of the day, but we have:
    • tidied kitchen sides and washed up
    • paid two bills, dealt with 4 items of paperwork from pile on coffee table, and will file when i go upstairs
    • made a loaf in BM
    • put turkey carcass in SC to make stock
    • ate lots of chocs, so had lots of wrappers to boogie ;)
    • emptied bathroom bin
    • sorted through some of presents and tried to put in appropriate rooms in house.
    • swiped the bathroom sink
    • done pigsback clicks
    • kitchen sink gets done before bed

2007 is going to be organised and cost-effective. I can't afford for it not to be. I must even be having an effect on my mum as she actually bought some pressies for next year already.

If anyone uses Outlook 2003 for keeping their address book, there is a way to get it to print the addresses of everyone you want to send Christmas cards to onto envelopes. If you are interested PM me and I'll explain it. I had about 100 to do for 2006, so it saved me a lot of time.

Now off to put the washing in.

Happy new year to you all!

I must too add my thanks to moggins! I can really see this logic of attacking it a little at a time. I'm back at work on Wednesday so I'm not sure how this will pan out from then on, especially just trying to keep up reading the thread!

    Today I:

Made a huge pot of soup - tea today, tomorrow and some in freezer
Cleaned sink - especially after chopping all those vegetables
    27 flung!
    Latest bills/post filed
Hotspot - cupboard at top of stairs - cleared
Put rubbish out - bin day tomorrow.

    Tomorrow I plan to:

Clear cupboard in bedroom - argh!
Spend an hour getting things ready for work on Wed
Cook beef bourgignon in slow cooker - dinner for Weds/Thurs and some into freezer
Visit my mum to say Happy Birthday!

Good luck everyone with their own plans. :j

Wow great job to everyone who has been really trying, so much accomplished by so many and makes me realise I am not alone, in fact when I was shining the sink tonight I wondered if anyone else had lol sad maybe or just supportive thoughts :)

Yes looks like tomorrows list is

Tackling the dining room, hallway and landing

Or for those without a dining room, try hallway, landing and tidy two cupboards plus another 30 mins tackling paperwork/filing, and keep the sink shining daily!

Another thing to add from flylady I think is to aim at at least 1 load of washing per day (not always doable for those who live alone of course) but helped me keep on top of it last year!

Right well we don't have a dining room but where we do (usually but has been taken over with sons crafts etc which budge up when we have food) eat in the kitchen needs tackling so will be onto that tomorrow!

Also taking my son for his birthday treat to the sealife centre tomorrow so the rest of my list is just small, will be out for a few hours.

[STRIKE]Floors in sitting room and kitchen vacuum and mop (twice)
    Kitchen bench kept clear!
    Hotspot sorted
Bathroom sink shining too! and the loo and bath!
2 loads washing done and out to dry on airers
Keep boys, fed, entertained and happy then bath and bed before 7.30pm! Well the bedtime bit hasn't worked!
Make sure dogs routine kept to
    27 fling boogie upstairs
Desk cleared! Did a little tonight but[/STRIKE] still needs finishing.

Sort a new filing system for paperwork so I can get the mountain sorted!
Send eBay items I have sold :A

Ok will add them to tomorrow
One day I might be more organised...........
