It's the waterproof bit that is usually effected on waterproof jackets, use a very very mild solution, if you use powder make it into a liquid first and add to the drawer, not the drum, and always use non bio, about 1/4 of what you would usually use. Lowest setting and as little spin as possible, but make sure it's well rinsed. Maybe a silks/woolens setting. You can buy specialist cleaning stuff for waterproof jackets but it's not cheap. You can also buy a treatment from most outdoor clothing which restores waterproof clothes. One day I might be more organised...........

Well, I am well and truly knackered. My kitchen floor was awful....I'm really ashamed of how bad it was. I suppose at least it's clean now. I was also cleaning the light and it fell off but on the positive side it was all burnt inside the casing so perhaps I've saved us from a fire. My kitchen looks truly clean with no lights accept the little one over the cooker.
By the way, my husband has told me to come on the computer whenever I want. He came home tonight to a lovely roast dinner which we all sat down to eat together. Think he might think i'm having an affair!
Right, need to crack on or else i'll realise that i'm tired and then get no studying done! I'll be back on later to see what tomorrow's jobs are. No work tomorrow but I hope there's not too much to do as I really need to catch up on study. College tomorrow night too with assessments. Blah!
Take care everyone xxJanuary budget

How's the new breadmaker then Lil_me? Which one is it?
You should see my kitchen, the stainless steel hasn't shone like that since the appliances were new! Done my hob, cleaned the oven inside and out, mopped floor and wiped down cupboards and appliances, just need to conquer the microwave and clean the tops of the wall units now. Might save that for another day! God help anyone who so much as drops a crumb in there - I think I might make the kitchen out of bounds to everyone else in the household now so they don't undo all my hard work.
My laundry basket that was empty last night is now half full again (sigh), oh well, might as well strip the beds now and put a wash on.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -

LOL, I know exactly what you mean, I only had one more load to go before I had a totally empty laundry basket. Then DS brought his laundry downstairs. I made him stick it in the machine himselfOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Oh you're all too good! I've done NOTHING all week! After such a good weekend too.
Ok so nothing might be an exaggeration but certainly nothing from any of moggins lists and nothing of any benefit to cleaning my house. Boo sniff!
I've just about maintained washing dishes every day and I put the bins out on Monday night but THAT'S IT!!!!
I know I shouldn't grumble but it's been such a busy week at school (my classroom is still immaculate I might add! HA!) and I've been marking every evening so I've just been exhausted!
Tonight when I'm back in control of my school work I've been invited to a friends for dinner so I won't be home. One less meal to cook and no dishes to wash at least but I do feel naughty!
Hmmm... rant over. Of course well done to all of you as always for doing so well. Keep it up, you do motivate me! (Though i'm not likely to do much this weekend as I want to start to clear my allotment!).
Hope everyone's had a good day, sorry again for moaning. ((((HUGS)))) to anyone that needed them!Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

thanks. really helps!!! maybe i'll try it in the bath with handwash stuff first (otherwise i only have colour tabs which i think are bio, or bio liquid or el cheapo value stuff!!!) i could always put it on a cold rinse in the machine then? i can turn off spin completely. i did think of buying some reproofing spray anyway, will need to do my boots annually, and considering jacket was free........Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
lil_me wrote:Less every week to do Moggins challenges, first tme I did Bathroom, kitchen, tasks etc took me a long time, about 1 1/2 hours, now takes less than half that usually as it's much more tidy than it was before.
I did flylady the first time and got all but one room done. I did have more time though then as DD was at a private nursery and I was at home as my college course had finished. Since then though I've said I'll do the challenges I've struggled to keep up. DD is now in school nursery 9 - 11.30 and I find it difficult to do anything when DD is home and impossible to do when DS (6) is home . In addition I am at college 1 morning a week and this is shortly going to increase to 2 mornings a week.
I'd been looking thru this thread for past week or so, but felt I needed to get on top of place first before using FL to keep on top of things (we weren't straight from xmas or the holiday we had week before xmas). I did most of this last weekend, and today was really the first day I felt ready to jump in. My kitchen is small and today tasks were things I hadn't yet done, like cleaning kitchen floor. I haven't done todays tasks yet, partly as Wednesday is a busy day for me, and partly because I'd rather clean the kitchen after the last meal of the day (sensible decision since I've two spillages on the floor from tea:rolleyes: ).0 -
Hi everyone!
My washing pile is still HUGE! I've done 8 loads this week to try and catch up and i've still got 3 (yes 3) full ikea bags of washing still to do! I'm currently trying to tackle the dreaded hotspots in my front room.
It was really weird today, I cleared my bookcases last week (thanks flylady) and subsequently had two big boxes of books to get rid of. I put them on freecycle today, and when the lady came to collect them, we were chatting about housework and she asked me whether i'd ever heard of Flylady!! Shes a member of a local flylady group in my area. I didn't realise it was so popular.
Oh well, back to flying! What the Deuce?0
