Will be doing my shopping on the 27th for next month as i have some very good discount vouchers £29 off in fact and there are some good deals on at tescos that finish on the 28th, have my shopping list ready and priced up. So i will use it to stock up on some cupboard/freezer items, am also considering doing a shop at rosspas as some of their stuff is really cheap

    But anyway i have bought:
    Pitta bread x 4 £1.00
    Mushrooms £0.99
    Cucumber £0.59

So £2.58 added to the total thats £96.06

Have been kind of naughty today, made a cake with the kids and then ate quite few spoons of the mix!!! i cant help it, its just so yummy and i like it better than cake, we will see what the cake turns out like after it finishes cooling down.

    Also spent
£2.29 on grated cheese (up 21p in a week!!!)
    18p value black pepper
    £0.47 value bread
    £1.00 spinach

    Total £3.94

Bringing me up to £100 EXACTLY and i have loads left in the freezer (whoopsied stuff, chicken breast, fish fingers, chicken wings, 250g mince) and cupboard items and fruit &veg to keep me going till the 31st, have to do the shopping tomorrow as i have the car and the discount vouchers i have will finish tomorrow i think it will come to about £43 odd and im picking up ds toys story table and stool that is normally £50 i got it for £22 and it matches his new toy box. Early shift tomorrow so need to leave the house by 7, so off to sleep in a bit. Will detail my purchases tomorrow......dont need to use any of them so i will count them as next months groceries, this month has been a good trial to see where i have been going right and wrong which should help me do better next month

Have done the shopping today and have got:

coke 8pk 330ml x8 (buy one get one free)
    potatoes 5kg
dolmio sauce family size 750g x4 (buy one get one free) each jar will last for 3 meals each for the 3/4 of us
    leeks x2
chicken dippers 12pk x3 (buy two get third free)
    spinach 260g
    stork 500g
    value spaghetti 500g
    value garlic baguette x4
    fresh chicken packs x 4
    weetabix 48pk
    value grated cheese
    milk 4 pints x2
    sweetcorn 3pk
    spinach canneloni x 3
    spinach tortillini
    utterly butterly 500g x2
    small value cheese
    value thick bread x2
    steak mince 800g
    black pepper 25g

This is what i like to see:
    Subtotal: £84.81
    Total Savings: -£22.24
    Total to pay: £62.57
    Minus Coupons: -£29.60
    Total Cash Paid: £32.97

This has made me happy as i got to treat myself to some canneloni for the month, loads of coke to last us, it has amazed me the amount prices have gone up by from last week 500g penne has gone from 17p to 41p in a couple of days, value peppers price is going to change from 18p to 23p in the next couple of days according to sel. Dolmio sauce 750g is buy one get one free for £2.56 but the 500g jars are buy 2 for £3.50 dont understand the logic behind that.....got ds toy story table & stool picked up from tescos and put it together its fab and really sturdy.

    Few disappointments
    no frozen peppers
    no frozen spinach
    no value plain flour
    no tortilla wraps
    no caster sugar

and its a huge tescos, if i cant get them there then where can i get it?????

All veg/turkish stuff will be bought on friday probably when ds is at nursey, have my induction to the gym on wednesday but just cant find the get up and go to do it, feel like everyone will stare....although i have a healty bmi i am so unfit, which needs to change asap i cant even run a lap around the park anymore, carry on at this rate and i will have to buy one of those scooters with a basket on the front for my 30th.lol.

Where is everyone anyway???????????????? HEEEEEELLLLLLLOOOOOO OUT THERE.XXXX

    Hello

I know what you mean about prices changing. You never know with some things what you might have to pay for them.
I just don't understand how prices can change so much. 20p then 40p then 18p. What's that all about??

    Hi Missus Aka,

I just wanted to say that I think you are doing really well. I am very new to the forum but have been following your thread for a few weeks now along with the "Eating from the Freezer/Storecupboard" started by Middy, both of which have inspired me to become involved and set myself a Grocery Challenge for September.

I have to say that I am very envious of the whoopsies/reductions that you and others seem to find, my local Mr A's and Mr S's only seem to reduce by 50p and its mostly things that I wouldnt buy any way. So lately I find myself checking out the offers people mention on this forum or search through the supermarket websites before planning my meals.

Re your frozen peppers -I tend to use peppers more for cooking than salads and have just picked up a pack of mixed peppers 69p from @ldi and sliced them up to put in freezer (weight approx 475g) Saves them going all wrinkle and sad in my salad drawer and I can just take out what I need.

    Good luck with your challenge.

  • quintwins i will have a look in iceland on the way back from ds nursery tonight to see what they have but its only a small one near me fingers crossed, as for the tortilla wraps i managed to find them at tesco express next to my work yesterday £1.33 buy one get one free (last day of offer) which i need to add to my total, lidl is a bit out of the way for me so i will try my local tescos when my month starts properly on thursday for the flour and sugar and will pick up some of the pasta if it stays the same price but when tesco did dtd it was only 9p

need2bthrifty have you tried asda at about 8? thats when they seem to really go down but you have to be there before they start reducing to hand around otherwise you get nothing if you are a couple mins late, i normally slice and freeze my peppers as well but i was wondering if frozen will be cheaper for the weight and thanks for following

yesterday was the same as last week at work only 2/3 people to cover the whole shop.....it was ridiculous so i told them next time it happens i will be going home, so was really tired last night but i did get free pizza last night as some of my stepdads family were down so i was invited over for dinner and they got dominos, havent had takeaway for AGES!!!! So it was a nice treat
