Well little sister has just left and am sooooo tired, if i was 100% it would have been ok but i think im running at about 50%, so we ended up making 3 cakes (one for our house as well) and it was lovely. Need to get onions, green turkish peppers & bread for the house (should be about £2) i dont have much of an appetite at the moment so im not really enjoying cooking as much as i normally do (i actually got through till 3pm yesterday on a cup of tea because i didnt realise i hadnt eaten as i had fed everyone else, only realised because oh asked me) oh has gone work, just have to do a few dishes and clean the bathroom, will make something simple for dinner and go sleep early......hope everyone is doing well

  • Do you have a worldwide foods locally at all? They are really cheap for the majority of things-milk is 69p or 2 for £1.30 (same size as Tesco's), chicken is £4.75 per kg-all meat, fish and poulty is very cheap there much cheaper than value ranges, 6 large free range eggs for 69p, 3 huge naan bread in 4 varities for £1.49, natural yog 29p each for 4 for £1, whole cucumber 30p, 6 gala apples 90p, 2.5kg red pots 99p, 10 oranges for 99p, 400g strawberries for 99p and many more. Also lentils, spices and rice are much cheaper too. I always shop there first then go to Tesco's for everything else.

If you haven't a local worldwide foods, do you have any local asian supermarkets as they are generally cheaper. Hope this helps.xx

    Don't waste money on croutons!
I cut the end slices of bread into cubes with scissors, or any slices which are going stale, put them on a baking tray and add a teaspoon of oil. These go in the oven when it is on anyway for about 15-20 minutes. They keep for ages in a tupperware, though tend to disappear as my daughter likes to snack on them instead of crisps!
For variety, you could also add a sprinkle of garlic or mixed herbs.
I promise you that if you try these you will never want to buy them again!

hope your feeling better your doing really well, just wanted to point out with the cheese tesco do 2 bags for £3 i usually get a packet of grated and a packet of sliced because i know i could never get 10 sandwichs out of a block of cheese, depending on what meals we have (and if the boys are at school) these last us the month

also if you don't mind tuna in brine poundland do 3 for £1 i use it to make my own tina mayo i drain it then give it a wee wash in my seive before adding tuna and sweetcornm, we use value mayo and value frozen sweetcorn (when i'm in a hurry i boil a wee bit then run cold water threw it in a seive aswell) it makes very cheap lunchs :)

    Have spent

    £2.00 on toilet roll
    £0.79 tango 2l
    £0.47 bread
    £0.33 onions
    £0.31 green peppers
£1.00 full bag of bananas, cherries, plums, grapes, oranges (this was whoopsied at the end of today from a market stall)

Which comes to £4.90 which takes my grand total to £89.94, the grated cheese is still here and i still have quite a bit so i think having that instead of block cheese will be a lot cheaper, i think i should start getting a huge sack of onions as it is cheaper as well. As for the toilet roll its like oh finishes 1 everyday, i go to work and there is near enough a full one and by the time i get home its gone, dont know what he does with it,i think i need to teach him to economise a bit. Cant think of anything i need right now, which is a good thing. oh made him & ds something to eat already, i dont really feel hungry...it has been a long day running a busy high st electronics store with only 2/3 people in when we should have at least 5. May just go to sleep........hope everyone is ok & well. Will reply to everyone tomorrow, have such a headache

With regard to loo roll, we go through a lot too as the twins use tons of it, I buy the value stuff it isn't as cheap as it was, but is still worthwhile in my opinion. I don't have any problem with using it at all...think the last pack I bought was a 4 pack for 70p at MrS that fruit you got for £1 is a great deal :money:

Hope you are having a less stressful day today x
