I think they are more like the ones that have been installed around Ballyholme Esplanade - but time will tell!

Out of interest, having now scrubbed one edge of 6 tyres across three different cars and having had to scrap otherwise perfectly good tyres) I am having to get my alignment checked every 3 months ... and everytime so far it has needed adjustment. I never had this problem before these ramps were installed and on a couple of occasions the mechanics have hinted that these speed ramps are giving them a great source of revenue.

Is anybody else having similar problems?

What are they doing along Bexley Road? I see most of them have been removed. Are they replacing them with the ones that stretch across the whole road?

Is it just me or do the new ramps look like they were laid by gypsies on a bad day .. I have never seen such shoddy work in all my life.

Roads Service have today put posters up on Cranley Road indicating that speed ramps are to be put in place. Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse!!

The traffic flow along Cranley has probably increased (similar to Perry) with people trying to avoid the ramps. Rest of the UK has wised up to the pollution and hazard effect of these ramps ... as usual we stumble along wasting money 5 years behind.

    There's my shortcut gone..........

I'm not sure Ivan, if we are behind the rest of the UK. Just back from visiting relatives in London and they have the same speed ramps everywhere.

They have loads of them in England however I have read several articles from various different sources about plans to remove many because of the increased pollution and the distraction to drivers (watching the ramp instead of around them) .. especially near schools

After taking a hissy-fit at some doddering old biddy doing 5 mph in fornt of me I have found out that if I hit the ramps at just under 40mph my car hardly feels them (must be something to do with the suspension geometry) ... its incredible its almost as if they don't exist.

I don't however condone anybody from speeding, however you might just find a speed that suits your suspension.

The speed I have found best for my car (low, narrow car with sports suspension) is come to a complete halt before each one, then a 5mph crawl over it. Not everyone seems to appreciate it though, especially 4x4 drivers.
