Bangor speed ramps .....

So they actually had a reason for not running them right across the road...
Wonder why they don't want to slow the buses down?0 -
They don't want to keep the driver late for his game of pool at the depot! :rolleyes:0
-
Can you believe it they're makeing more on Albany road.
Loads of them, not just at the school entrance. Every 50M or so along the entire length of the road. Obviously we didn't have enough. Watch rhe rat runners on Perri road now.
I also heared that they are replacing the ones on Silverbirch road with bigger ones that don't require those attractive white posts.
How many times before they get it right?
How long do you think that will take?
How much will it cost?Plenty of mistakes, but no regrets.

I believe Perri is next0

Here are some interesting facts http://www.abd.org.uk/speed_humps.htm0

I notcied the road markings the other nght. I notice that the new ramps are bigger than the others - we are getting totally hemmed in (I am still convinced some pratt must have got a 'buy one get ten free' deal). Maybe once road services start getting a few law suits related to suspension damage they will finally wise up and remove the majority of these (i.e. the ones not needed).
Also have you smelt the pollution around the school now. We walk the dogs past it and it is getting ridiculous with cars continually slowing down and speeding up going over the ramps. The drivers may not kill the kids by running them over but they will certainly kill them with the pollution.
BigAll, there is still rumour that they are going the whole way along Ballycrochan as well
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
I hate them so much Ivan - in many parts of UK they are being removed due to increased noise, polution etc. Surely we can fight this. I have emailed Roads Sevice and will post when I get a response.0

One week on - and no reponse from Roads Service!0
-
I don't live in your area, but I do work there (ie spend a lot of time driving in Ballycrochan and surrounding area), and I have to agree with you all that the number of ramps are ridiculous.
BigAl, If I can do anything to help your cause then please send me a pm.

Got a "holding" reply email from Roads Service today saying they will respond by 27 June. I see the work has stopped on Albany - no progress in nearly two weeks, one hump, one prepared and the rest marked out but abandoned. Anyone know what's going on?0
