I dont understand why people on benefits are all branded with a certain tag.... not everyone on benefits want to be there. My mum and dad had 6 children together, my dad was an MD of a company on 100k +, one day he left, house got repossesed and we ended up in a three bed council house on benefits (all 7 of us) My mum had no choice but to claim benefits as she hadnt worked for 12 years due to being a SAHM so any job she could get wouldnt have covered the childcare costs of 6 children. She worked very hard, brought us all up to be good students (all A grade children), run the house and studied a managerial course. She is now a manager at a supermarket.

Your mother sounds the sort of person that benefits are designed to help. Unfortunately there are many people these days for whom benefits are a lifestyle choice.0 -
