I thought you could have someone over 3 nights a week and it didnt count as living there - but I've always thought people did that just to abuse the system so they could claim benefits as a single person.

You have 3 kids, and your "boyfriend" is also counted as a child.

Maybe you can claim child benefits and some extra CTC for taking care of a minor.

yes the econmy would crash ,there'd be more crime people dying from starvation

even rich people could lose their homes as there would be no money to pay for them

Unfortunately as soon as single mother, benefits, boyfriend staying over, unfortunately it doesn't bode well with some posters.

Theres no real hard set rules, it all comes down to what he does/contributes to the house.

Say you all went out for the day, he paid, - that would be a treat and not a financial commimtment, (unless it was 5 days a week)

Same daft - but one question - what does he contribute to the household, theres a difference between having a fish and chip supper to him buying a bag of shopping.

Does he have many clothes there, (toothbush, change of clothes etc would be general anyone would leave), much more could be seen as him staying most of the time.

Bills - does he contribute towards anything for the house.

    ---
I would speak to the DHSS, and explain what the situation is, and what there perspective is, as there is no 2 realtionships the same, and i'm not being funny, but you may have a neighbour, someone on the school run etc, who puts 2 + 2 together, and assume he's living there, seeing you getting the benefits, and wham bang one call to the fraud line, and your investagated.

Its always better to be honest and explain everything, and then at least your have a clear pathway. x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
