There's no set number of nights he can stay over. If you do things together such as shopping, going out for a meal, if he contributes in ANY way to your outgoings, from bills to having food out then this can have implications on your income support, and as a consequence of that, your housing benefit, council tax benefit, child tax credit etc. I think the best thing you can do is ring up job centre and ask for advice if you want to make sure you don't do anything wrong. Only they can give you 100% correct information regarding your specific case. There doesn't seem to be many 'set' rules with this, they take it case by case. Ring them up soon if I were you because you don't want to find out later you did something wrong and they're demanding huge amounts of money back, especially with children to look after. It might save you a lot of stress

Hi OP. Peainapod is correct: rules aren't hard and fast.
Where does your boyfriend live at present? Does he have proofs of address for this place?
Will he be making any financial contribution?
Will he be keeping personal items at your house (paperwork, clean clothes, etc)?
Will you be shopping, cooking and eating together?
Will you be going out as a family together (ie including your children)?
These are the types of question the benefit people ask. If one or more of your answers indicate you are now a family unit, then it will potentially affect your benefits.0 -
You have 3 kids, and your "boyfriend" is also counted as a child.
Maybe you can claim child benefits and some extra CTC for taking care of a minor.Per Mare Per Terram0 -
