I've decided that although we don't have enough spare cash for the annual permium there is no way I want to pay extra for monthly payments. Then had a  moment and will pay for it out of the grocery budget.

I can't bring myself to pay the extra either, but I did have the ££ to hand to pay this years, but was thinking that may well NOT be the case next year...so I opened another account with my online bank and called it 'insurance' and I'm trying to bung another £50 a month into it to cover the car and the house insurance, and hope by the time the first comes due there will be enough to cover it, or most of it anyway.

Remind me who was it had a whole stash of PB in the cellar? Good thing they posted before the latest - ahem - discussions otherwise people who didn't recognise it would have had very boggling minds:rotfl:

Suzid our electric company e mailed up a little graph showing just how much our consumption dropped after our more mature chicks left the nest...again.. bloomin heck I was shocked I could have powered another house.

OH is making lots of noise in 'my craft room' cutting a shelf down for Sil. Really he has the Forth bridge up there and is extending it, its already taken him to B&Q twice. Lets hope the day improves as I cannot for the life of me concentrate on what to cook for tea and all those jobs I have to catch up on from yesterday.

:o :whistle:I know what all those abbreviations mean, but you'll appreciate it's a purely academic interest, of course. ;)

I had to look some of them up :o:A

I am feeling decidedly "Norma normal"

Although taking pleasure from boiling up a chicken carcass and ripping it apart with my fingers can't be normal.

Afternoon all - delurking again after all the hilarious posts! :D

The plumbers have been here yesterday and today, fitting new radiators and a new boiler - been a few little hiccups, but going OK. Not sure how effective they'll be cost-wise as gas prices continue to rise, but I think we'll break even as they're more effective. Dreading the bill in a couple of weeks, though! It will wipe out every last penny we have, so I'm glad we have well-stocked freezers and cupboards to see us over the next few weeks until DH's next wage.

VJsmum - I did the same with my Sunday chicken (we're having HM soup tonight); very therapeutic! :rotfl:

katieowl - that's a good idea re the insurance; think I'll try the same. If I separate it then I'm less likely to dip in to it - it's worked for other little pots of money I've saved for various things.

    Happy scrimping folks!

    A xo

Just caught up with the goings on since yesterday afternoon - what a fab way to start my day! Good job there's no-one else here or they'd be wondering what I was laughing at.

Better go and wipe up the coffee splutters now :-)

And it's all on topic because laughter for free is very OS <insert smug grin here>

Oh yes laughter for free, cant beat a good chuckle.

I am laughing even more now as a friend has just told me that our new neighbour thinks I am very odd, she has heard me in the garden
laughing to myself. We have a high hedge so she cant see that I
sit outside with my laptop when its nice. dont have to wipe up the splutters either.:rotfl:

I did not! You lot all jumped in with your tales of misdemeanours, without any encouragement from me, I might add! I am not to blame for the debauchery and licentiousness of this thread. Had I known that such a dissolute bunch of wantons inhabited this forum I would never have mentioned it. Indeed! Now please excuse me, I have a halo to polish.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Awwwwwwww smileyt you say the nicest things :D

I have a halo too, but it tends to be around one of my ankles.

I have not giggled so much in ages. And cheering everyone up with a little free laughter is very OS.

No halo here. But - I've lost a stone in the past month. One of the local dogs went hunting for a treat this morning, and my jeans ended up round my ankles :D I am reminded of the old advice - always make sure your knickers are clean and presentable just in case!

As I live in a small village I don't think I'm ever going to live this down:rotfl::rotfl:

Smiley, anybody who can spell "licentiousness" has my complete admiration.
But can you say it without your teeth falling out?
