Redlady, I think you've made the right decision and I hope that you will feel better with more rest. Take care. x
:j I got my author-talk-ticket (£2) so I am very happy and at least one mate will be there and possibly bump into some more people I know. Who knows, might even feel flush enough to run to a wee drinkie whilst we are out.:rotfl:Out 3 nights on the trot. This is sooooo unusual for me, I feel quite peculiar. Well, I am quite peculiar, but you know what I mean.:o
Hope everyone has a nice remainder to the day.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I will pay off the cellar (saving me £100 per month) and all the pub money was thrown at the cellar debt anyway - with a few luxuries thrown in. I should be ok. It will be weird having my life back again.
Sounds like me and the big voluntary thing I've been involved in. Haven't been quite sure what to do with myself. All that time... all that mental space...:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Good news re the job Redlady. I'm delighted that you will have more time for yourself and I can stop worrying about you burning yourself out now.
No let up to the stormy day here. And temperatures set to drop dramatically by the end of the week.
Had to laugh at this thread in DT. :rotfl:Confirms to me that my decision to stop reading the daily mail was correct. Quite scary though to see they had "quotes" from the prosecution team and would have printed them if the verdict had gone the other way even though they were entirely fictitious.
OH's birthday tommorrow so I have been organising his tool shed for him.I HAVE bought him new toolboxes etc but mostly I have just labelled everything so he won't lose stuff anymore. There is now a place for everything and everything in it's place. How OS is that? :rotfl:But shh... it's a surprise :shhh:. Am also making him fudge and have a combination of new and used books to wrap for him later.

I can resonate with that.
I had literally years (QUITE a few years at that) of assorted voluntary work:D and/or extra paid work:(:( in my leisure time and it takes a lot of doing to get one's head round the thought "All my leisure time is now mine...mine....I tell ya:D" and is still taking some adapting to. But I'm "working on it":D. What I still havent "got my head round" is feeling guilty at not having to do any work of any type in my evenings/weekends....that darn "Protestant work ethic" rearing its head I guess that some of us have. But I "tape a few strong plasters across its critical little mouth" and remind it JUST how much work of every description I've done over the years - so time for it to "shut up and go to sleep".
I've got a mental picture of a frowny little man standing there wagging his finger at me whilst wearing Cromwell era type black clothing/hat on head/large plain white collar going "Idleness is the work of the Devil - its a sin I tell you":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Enjoy your new-found freedom:D
....and if anyone finds a piccie of "frowny little Mr Work Ethic" I'm picturing DO share it and I'll send the photo over to my favourites....just a little reminder to self....LOL0 -
Today is my 2nd day as unemployed. Great news I have an interview next week so fingers crossed. I spent some time today sorting out paperwork and then shredded it afterwards. Great feeling to see it in the shredder, still loads more to sort through though. Planning on continuing this tomorrow. Seeing the job centre tomorrow in the afternoon. Boots is looking for christmas temps so I shall start applying for that tomorrow as well.
Redlady_1, I am pleased things are working out well for you.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -
Fingers crossed for that interview for you Becky - trust that all will be well and you'll be back in work again within the month (and with a better job as compensation for the stress/etc of having lost the previous one).
Good idea to "catch up" a bit on the chores while you have the time/energy to do so. Maybes 'twould be best to have an action plan of the type I recall having on holiday in t'past with a particular boyfriend. It went: explore one day, relax locally the next day, explore the day after etc. Maybes yours could go: Holiday Day (apart from job-hunting) one day and Catch Up with chores (apart from job-hunting) the following day and so on...???0
