  • Morning ladies...

Welcome home greyqueen..oh i have missed your posts...glad your safe and sound..looking forward to hearing about your holiday.

Well its very windy here..it wasn't to bad when we got up but it has got worse..no rain thankfully and its awfully warm..got windows open, got to keep back door shut as its blowing that way...me and iris have been sat watching the willows sway all over ..and the leaves getting swept all over the garden..she loves the wind..i personally don't like it..

OK might sound a bit weird but is anyone else looking forward to winter...i am..i might get to do..
1, actually getting to sit down and not being in the kitchen making jams or chutneys or freezing veggies..
2,finishing my knitting and learning to crochet
3, enjoying the preserves i have made on a cold winters day
4, being all wrapped up and cosy
5,planning next year and getting excited at my seed catalogues
6, relaxing with family over the festive period
7, eating all my own home grown veggies and cakes..
you all probably think its weird but i am just soo tired from it all..i am looking on winter as my break so to speak..might not get to do much at the lotties but will be thinking of them..
anyway have rambled enough..off to get lunch..fried tomatoes on toast..yummy..
    love ftm
p.s. hope everyone affected by the wind is ok..
    xxxxxxxxxxx
Be who you are, not what the world expects you to be..:smileyhea

    :jDebt free and loving it.
  • Very windy here in the Midlands. Gusts are quite scary and the neighbour's fence has blown down. Said we'll fix it this afternoon when (hopefully) it's eased off a bit.
I've just finished cleaning the oven - my most hated job - and my question is:
Is 12.30pm too early to sit down with a glass of wine and today's paper? I have one of those cork wine stoppers, but I've still not found out what the point of it is:rotfl:and there seems to be a wee drop left in the bottle that will obviously go orf if it's not drunked today!
    Normal people worry me.

Move over Bear...GQ is on your patch!!! :D

Thanks greent for the log store idea.

Well, I had some disturbing news late last night. My ex husband has been asking questions about me such as where do I live, who am I with, what do I do...Now, this is the man who left me with very little indeed and it has taken quite a bit to get on my feet again. Needless to say I am VERY twitchy about it and frightened he may want to take it all away again. I moved away from where we used to live and where I am now he has no connections there. I started all over fresh and have kept it quiet what I have been up to.

He still has an uncanny ability to mess with my head - the git!!!!!!!!! He is shacked up with a woman so why the hell would he care what I was up to???

    Paranoid? Me? Never!!!!:D

Is mad up here, silly a$$ up top of the road has left all her plant pots out and they are now all over the road, along with some wheelie bins. My hens are inside, sitting their doorstep with folded wings muttering to themselves.
Kittie, it certainly sounds a hell of a lot warmer and milder where you are ! I wouldn't know cos I never been down that far south :)

You know you have been very careful to keep him from your life so there's nothing more you can do. Stay sensible and trust in your friends. You are happy now and that will p*** him off. Just enjoy that knowledge.

It's a tad blowy up here. :rotfl:Nothing we can do but sit and watch. I'm staying back from the windows mind you in case one of these bloody trees catapults through my windows. :rotfl:
Oh and it's a tad wet too. The joys of living on the West coast Highlands.:D
Still not the worst I've seen it, it's just been hyped up more than usual. Can't help but think that if it wasn't affecting the Central Belt of Scotland or the South we wouldn't be hearing about it all. People in Glasgow are being advised to leave work early to avoid the worst of it.
I'm out tonight so am doing soup and toasties for the family to heat up themselves though if the wind doesn't abate my meeting is bound to be cancelled as most attending live very rurally and there will be trees down. ;)

    ETA. Yep. meeting cancelled.

Blowing a gale here and pouring. Already got a leak in the passage, and forgot to close airvent in one window so horizontal rain has come in. Joy. Batten down the hatches everyone. No way dog is getting a walk this afternoon. If it gets much worse I'm locking him in.

Just had an email from hubby. They were doing a thing at work whereby if you go for a blood pressure check, you get a bag of free veggies. He went along and got not one, but two free bags! He said they're tied up tight, so he can't see exactly whats in the bags, but there's definitely carrots, potatoes and cabbage. I'm strangely excited and can't wait to see what other veggies are in the bags!

That sounds like a brilliant deal Gigervamp!

I'm in a rubbish mood. Well, it's not really a mood, more a worry. The Mr's work are being horrid, so we're getting about a quarter less than normal on the next pay packet, so we'll only just cover rent with that - lets hope my student loan comes in on time or we really are !!!!!!ed. They're also threatening him with a cut in hours - he's already told them he'll be leaving if that happens, as we can barely get by on what he gets already.

Applied for a job today but not sure if they're going to be willing to take on part timers... but hey, god loves a tryer.

Now i'd very much like to go and hide.
    On the up :D
