Morning all,
I hope SG is doing ok this morning. It shouldn't surprise me - but the idiocy and self-centredness (have I just invented a new word?!) of some people does completely baffle me.
I have a banana and pistachio tea-bread in the oven (bananas needed using up!) and the next dose of wonder-paste is on the bath. So my job for the rest of the day is to "encourage" OH in his de-cluttering as well as packing up other stuff ready to go to the CS. He's finally decided that his parents' 78's of the entire Gilbert and Sullivan collection can go, we have a couple of very good specialist CS here - so hopefully they'll find a good home.
And then it's off to the dentist this afternoon for two fillings:( Never mind, OH is on cooking duty later on and then it's "The Great British Bake-off". Don't tell me I don't know how to live.0 -
Hello again all,
I'm recovered from whatever ghastly thing I had. 2 weeks, with more days in bed than out of it and a large does of antibiotics later... Some sort of upper respiratory infection (wonder if it started with an allergy, but no congestion, so odd all round).
Anyways, hugs to all those who I've not hugged and who needed one since I'm not infectious now!
And back with a vengence:
Choccy orange muffins
Blend together: 1 whole orange (skin and all), 200ml milk, 2 eggs then add 100ml veg oil, 1 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cups s/r flour, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder. Mix well, put in tin, cook at 180 degrees for about 30 mins (until a skewer prodded in comes out clean).
Very easy, very moist and light and I've just eaten one.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Softstuff - lovely to see you back
GQ - the level of selfishness of some people never ceases to amaze me, hope SG better soon.
Sourdough bread - kittie makes it so it may be worth popping her a PM.
Off to funeral today (grandmother) not looking forward to it as there is bound to be huge rows.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -

GQ I hope SG is ok, I have had a bit of experience with women like her neighbour, we have a block of maisonettes opposite us full of such types, used to be for elderley and infirm now just full of aging junkies! They can smell a generous soul a mile away.
Charis, the article confirms my thoughts on bought bread, Im sure thats what causes OH's tummy troubles some times - he is a bit old fashioned and does love his white bread. I do try to give him Hm as much as I can but he craves his bacon butties on Mr T's thick whiteYou can teach an old dog some new tricks but not all :rotfl: I have managed to clear our diets of a lot of additives which I have always had concerns about - I even got praise from his new specialist about the 'clean regime' (his words not mine) Apparently most people don't consider their additive full diets as being linked to illness's and go to see him and are shocked when he blames the fast food they greedily consume. We have 13 take-aways including MacD's in a half a mile stretch of road here and the only one we use on occasion is the chippy.
Am off to the dreaded Mr T's now for bloomin cat food - another 'old dog' I cannot convince to eat HM mind you he is a 15 year old rescue cat who would eat anything till he entered his dotage :rotfl: Must put my blinkers on and run to the petfood section and straight out again!Clearing the junk to travel light

((kidkat)) hugs today for the funeral.
Softstuff, good to see you with us again, was wondering how you were getting along.
ginnyknit the middle-age of junkies is not a pretty sight, is it? This woman is the same age as me (both between 45 and 50) and I have chronic illnesses which require meds to stay alive, but I'd bet my life expectancy against hers any day of the week. The usual end-game if not OD is death by multiple organ failure.:(
Gotta go, on break. xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Mum watched that programme on TV by Jasmine Whats-her-face about her hoarding mum and I think she had a wee bit of a moment
Thanks for the clue on the Hoarding Mum programme, I now know what to look for on Iplayer!
My 2 bob's worth on ways of defining the "correct" weight! Last time I looked, there was a tendency to look at waist to hip ratio (waist 10 inches smaller than hips for women) and a desire for overweight patients to lose 10% of body weight which can help tip the balance away from type 2 diabetes and heart issues. Of course, with the tendency of body fat to migrate to the waist with menopause, the waist to hip ratio can be a beggar to achieve.

Thank you!
You know you're sick when you're lying on the sofa watching the ads for funeral plans and life insurance and begin to think they could very soon be a good idea :rotfl:
I know that feeling - when I had that terrible time with my tooth whilst moving I suddenly realised I hadnt updated my will!!! Thats when it hit me how ill I felt.
IOIWE - sending huge wishes for a great interview.
Am off now - its possible I may well come back a very rich woman (but highly unlikely my grandmother went out of her way to deny my existence!!) :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
