Yes, that's the one. Did you ever go to it when it was open air, down that alley way near Nicholson Square (kind of opposite The Blind Poet pub on the street that runs down by Scotmid)? It's the same fab food as ever but you don't have to sit outside in all weathers! I haven't heard of Vietnam House - am looking for somewhere to go with my DD when she comes back from holiday in Greece (lucky so and so). Good to support a one woman business even if eating out isn't in my frugal plan!
Softstuff (whose recipes are most definitely in my frugal plan) - I'm glad you are feeling better.
If Only...good luck vibes sent to you for the interview!
Am in the middle of cleaning out my cutlery drawer - am supposed to be reading a text book but hey the cleaning out of a drawer is suddenly more interesting!

IOIWE good luck, lets hope they see what a fab person you are!
Softstuff those muffins sound really good will add them to my list of important things too do! Glad you are feeling better.
As to wills, I have been given some advice of late that I need to see a solicitor (one of those free appointments hopefully) regarding OH and my future, apparently debts do not always die with you. Its a difficult subject but the person who told me was acting proffesionally in my best interest when she told me. He is on respite tomorrow and Thursday but doubt I will get an appointment at such short notice. So next time he goes I will go and find out - its a very scary thing, the future and I want to be as well informed as poss - sorry to mention a difficult subject but feel a lot of you will understand my predicament which has been giving me sleepless nights for a week or so.Clearing the junk to travel light

:hello: Hello Kimsmum, welcome to the madhouse.
Well, I speak for myself; the rest of the people here are lovely and entirely sane........:rotfl:
I shall be off to do the grocery-shopping in a minute inc SuperGran's bits and then drop them around to her flat and have a visit. Need to give the lady some company as well as practical help; she's such a livewire she'll be going stir-crazy cooped up indoors.Errr, Kimsmum, you have been told that the newest lurker to de-cloak has to put the Virtual Kettle on, haven't you? (Looks around for a kettle or tea-related smilie and can't find one).
I like my tea milky and with a coupla choccie biscuits...........;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Good afternoon folks,
Not much happening here so just reading posts, sympathising, well wishes, and virtual hugs from me.
Had a horrible day last week when I had to tell DD that I can't cope with DGS while she works. Only have him 1 day a week and it's not so bad when it's a weekend as DH will amuse him while I escape for a bit, but weekdays I feel trapped. I felt so guilty and miserable (not to mention tearful) as I really dread having him. I'm not the natural maternal type and I feel no draw towards children at all. Never had any inclination to have children but when DS1 was an accident I did eventually bond with him after he was born about 2 miserable months later. Sounds utterly bonkers coming from a woman who's had 5 kids, all of which I've loved dearly, but they were mine and we bonded. I read on here so many of you saying how much you love spending time with you grandchildren, and feel like a right weirdo.
Looking forward to seeing family on Thursday and at the weekend so have been busy planning what to feed them. Found a recipe I used years ago from an old slimming magazine for a rice and pineapple salad. It has cashew nuts, peppers and spring onions in and I hope will life up to my memories of it, will report back.
The plums are ripening will and I've been munching my way through a small mountain of them and freezing loads for the winter. Still watching the elder berries but they're still not ripe. Then I hope to have a go at the recipe I copied from here.
Grass still full of froglets so will have to explain to relatives why the lawn looks like a field. Its a reason not an excuse! Best of all A1 got through the bank holiday without a near death experience, the first time since before Easter. :T Bless him. he keeps pottering on, mugging my doggy friends for any treats they have in their pockets.
Had a mega sort out of our bedroom this weekend which all started when a pair of socks fell down the back of the chest of draws and the draw couldn't shut. Amazing what you forget you've got, and the junk you've collected or hung onto. I had put a jewellery case my EX bought me in the bin but then thought better of it, cleaned it up and it can now go to a CS. Also got 3 pairs of glasses to be recycled. Must ask for M&S vouchers for Christmas as my unmentionables are in need of replacing.
Take care folks and well wishes to you all."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -
