NTL / Telewest 2mb broadband £10 month

I have just seen on the NTL website that they are offering 2mb broadband for £10 per month. This is amazing value since you don't need the phone line!

An installation fee of £25 applies if you take it without the phone line.

If you want all three packages, this works out at £21 per month for broadband, telephone & basic tv!

Offer available until 31st January

I also believe it's not a bad offer as well especially as you DON'T have to take their expensive landline service with it.

However, it should be noted that Telewest are currently trialling a 'Fair Use' policy which in some areas (currently around blackpool area) they are throttling download speed for high users - mentioned on DS forums here.

As AOL are now introducing a Fair Use Policy (FUP) in February then as far as I'm aware there are now no cheap(ish) ISP's that offer truly unlimited downloads without restrictions.

Still for £10 per month for unlimited download (but may be subject to speed throttling in some areas) then it's still good value for money compared to the many, many other ISP's that enforce download caps and/or FUP's as well.

I have been with NTL (for broadband only) for over 2 years now, and have had good service from them, apart from the very rare outages for system upgrades/maintenance. I thought I'd be pestered by them with offers, to get me to take out other packeages with them, but surprisingly not.
I started with them after using Freeserve Dial Up, taking out the 500kbs speed for £15/month after about 1 year they did up the cost and speed to £18 1M, and recently up the speed again to 2m, but still only paying £18.
That said, I will be contacting them, if new users are getting it for just £10
So overall, I cannot fault the service I have had with NTL.

Remember Quidco as well which pays back £40 and with the £10 discount for applying online that's another £50 off which means you are paying about £6 a month for 2mb broadband!

As far as I'm aware NTL/TW don't provide routers - just cable modems.

You may have to get a wireless router. If you have a wireless router then there is a slim chance it will work with Cable broadband but the likelyhood is no you're gonna need another router I'm afraid. If you have an existing router then post make/model number and I'll check it out for you.

You would need something like this which connects to the cable modem supplied by NTL.

i just signed up but the quidco cashback said £27.50, not £40 for NTL. Where did you get £40 from.

Also how long should it take to appear in my quidco tracking.
  • In my area I can get NTL but not Telewest so the deal has to be with NTL.

The NTL website is confusing as although its clear that £10 pm for 12 months when you click to get a quote, it says that this is for the first 3 months only. the website shows connection charge of £25 less £10 discount.

Before committing do take printscreens of all the screens.

Is it necessary to get the PAC number before signing up on the website?

Do you have to take an ntl phoneline? It seems you dont have to according to the choices on the website.

Thats £8.90 pm for ntl 2mb uncapped broadband.

Sorry about that. I got £40 off Quidco for Telewest but it must be less for NTL. It took a couple of days to appear as tracked. It has took about a month to come through as paid on Quidco. Still not a bad deal though.
