LW, it's tiring being ill. And it is no wonder that you feel down when you work so hard to appear cheerful and you tire yourself out even more. Do you see your GP much to do anything more than get a repeat prescription for painkillers and plaquenil? Are you seeing a rheumatologist?

I know that one of the reasons I get tired/very down is when I am having a flare, and for me, that can be dealt with by having a steroid pulse im at the hospital. I start feeling better almost straight away usually. It could be that it means I can sleep better because the pain is reduced, it could be having other effects, I am not sure. But, obviously, I am NOT giving medical advice, I am saying that sometimes trying something else - through the doctor, including asking to be reviewed by a rheumatologist as there are so many new treatments - may be able to help.
Thanks Jojo; I'm generally in and out of the GP's room in 5 seconds flat - but I have to go for a meds review some time in August (will organise an appointment when we have Mr LW's work rota) and I may try and discuss things a bit more with her - only thing is, she keeps wanting me to go for counselling. Now, 1) I've had as much counselling as I can handle in this lifetime, and it's always thus far been counter-productive, and 2) there's the issue of I can't go anywhere unless Mr LW is available to take me - so getting to appointments is problematic.

I also have to see the dreaded rheumy on 6th September (Mr LW is taking a day's leave that day to take me, bless him) - but getting her to actually listen to me is an uphill struggle. That is, if I actually see her - I usually just get to see one of her team (oh, and I refuse to see the man on the team, because he really upset me last time lol).

Actually, I must make a few notes of things to tell the rheumy - if I don't I'll be so nervous that I'll forget everything. Must remember to mention the increased pain in the long bones in my arms and legs, and the recent new development of severe cramps in my hands.

I'm reasonably OK on the morphine dose I have at present, especially as I have Oramorph to take for breakthrough pain; I just need to get my head together emotionally. Being so isolated doesn't help I guess - once Mr LW has left for work, I don't see or speak to a living soul til he comes home again.

    Lol, hooray for dog-sitting!! :rotfl:

Oh dear, I'm waffling big time today - I really must go and do something useful!:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

No worries.. I had forgotten it is Sunday!!!

I'm at OH's mums next week so if you remind me I'll get the new thread up about 4ish if it helps?

Hope you are doing well xxx
Hi piggers I will try to remember on sunday too! I am struggling a bit with my mobility and pain just now but nothing like the problems some people are dealing with just now so will not be boring anyone with my moans:DI am enjoying the good weather and trying to make the most of it as I am sure it is short-lived - I am trying very hard to not let my fears, my illnesses or what other people think get in the way of doing things I enjoy.

hope the decorating goes to plan this week. xxx

well done to all the new flyers - you are doing a great job at putting us regulars to shame:D
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

ive just packaged up the stuff to post and got my call back from orange and one way or another i will get a different make of handset! she is going to call me back tomorrow after discussing with her manager the best way to do it coz the computers wont allow it. i might have to send the handset back and get my contract cancelled then restarted with a new handset but that means starting again on an 18 or 24 month contract!

finally sitting down to my first cuppa of the day then when the rains off im nipping out to shop. anyone know if lidl sells stardrops? i used to use it a few years ago and loved it and seeing thre threads on here again has made me want to go get some and im running out of kitchen and bathroom cleaner.

is it safe to reuse the same bottles that say my mr muscle spray was in if i put in the stardrops?
