    Evening, all!

Ended up being asked at very short notice if I could go and look after someone's kittens last night. So chucked down copious quantities of crunchies, tinned food and clean litter at my splats, fishie flakes and two fresh raspberries at Morris & the Munchers, S&S the kitchen and dashed off.

Opened the bungalow door to be met by an itty bitty kitty committee. One black panther wannabe and one much smaller tortoiseshell. Both 10 weeks old. Apparently, they are very timid and will only ever go anywhere near the owner when she squeals KITTYBITTYBITTYBITTYBITTYKITTY!!!!!! and NELLIELLIELLIELLIELLIELLLIELLLIELLLIELLLINELLLLIEEE!!!!!

So I spoke to them in my normal, sane human voice.

One has decided there is nothing better than being scratched on the tummy with real nails and the other one now understands the concepts of fetch (paper ball), jazz hands (do the motion and she copies to bash my hands back) and that flies are there to be caught (much to the disgust of the greenbottle that I kept batting down to her, lifting up her paws to put on, etc). Oh, and they didn't sleep in their hideyhole, they slept above my head, ate fresh duck (my dinner) from my hands and crashed out on my lap when they 'never get on laps, they don't like it'.

[raises quizzical eyebrow, but decides to say nothing about this to the owner]

Then had to explain to neighbour who had been asked to look after another neighbour's chooks how to pick them up and show him what they feel like when pecking grain out of the hands so he was confident handling them. Got given an egg from straight underneath the chickie's bottom. That was breakfast :D

So, after 24 hours with kittens and chickens, I now want both!!!!!

Came back about an hour ago via the garden centre (only bought 5 plants  and an organic fungicide thingy) to be greeted by 3 sleeping splats. They got up for as long as it took to eat dinner and then have all gone straight back to sleep. It's nice to be missed, isn't it :)

However, I did come back to a clean, orderly house. All I had to do was make a cuppa and sit down.

Admittedly, I have a load of music on the coffee table that needs sorting, organising and filing, a pile of [STRIKE]cra[/STRIKE] paperwork beside the radiator to go through and a mountain of washing to fold and put away tomorrow, but as far as I am concerned, I have NOTHING that has to be done tonight :j

Got to love this flyladying lark :D:D:D:D:D

Really busy today.... but first of all....fanfare please ....
:jDS1 passed his driving test yesterday!!!!:j

Really happy for him. And me. Now I'm just paying for DS2's lessons .

I've shopped in town, done several loads of washing, flew in DD's room, and the bathroom, spent two hours in the back garden (and more still to be done), and caught up with my emails. Oh, and I forgot, I've also knitted a tension square for the jumper I'm starting for DD, and now know what size needles I need.

OH has been car hunting for me, and found what may be the perfect one - in Leicester. May be a day trip tomorrow.Do we have any flyladies there???

Love and hugs, especially for Triker's DD, greenbee, toots, lady-liberty and lamewolf, and any of our other flyladies who would make good use of them!

    :T:T:T YAY!! Well done Serena's DS1:T:T:T

I see from today's paper they now reckon NHS managers are making people wait for treatment to see if they "remove themselves from the waiting list" ie either die or go private. Who'd have guessed?????

Sounds like your garden is sorted hex :D ?.. I'm sure serena needs a few days to decided on the car and practice using it... Maybe she can drop in here on the way back!

well I've just been transferred from private to NHS so I guess if you really need them they are there for you.

I have to say every one has been fabulous today... OH, my mum, the nurses, anaesthetists, care assistants, porters (there appeared to be a shortage!) and consultants. We still don't have answers but the consultants are going to talk to their colleagues and have a few ideas so hopefully new treatment will start next week.

Back home, fed and about to head off to bed. Thanks for all the good wishes.

Yes he did. Got here on plenty of time, stayed in the hospital till he had to go to work, dropped my mother at the station and picked us up when they finally let me out despite his car packing up on the way to work and having to take it to the garage and get a courtesy car sorted! He's hoping to spend some time here next week during the day, and then after that make a bit more time. But It's the school holidays so I want him to spend what time he can with the kids too.

Sleep now I think. See you all tomorrow.
