Morning all, my mum came to see DS2 last night with his b'day pressie. So hubby sorted the lawns and brush the path. So still nice and tidy out there..:D

So far today i've emptied and cleaned out the food cupboard, dw been unloaded and wm on. Plan is to get the kitchen and boys room done today and then this evening i'll sort the front hall and our room. Gonna give the sparky another call tomorrow or maybe this evening if i get all done on time. Hopefully he'll feel a little guilty and come this weekend..;)

Greenbee hope all goes well today.

Right i'll go sort the boys room...

Hey all - we had a bit of a lie in today - first of the school holidays :D

But have already done the first load of washing, did breakfast and filled the sink for dishes..

When I turned the tap off it came off in my hand

So have flipping decluttered the hot water tank of its contents :(

Greenbee, thinking of you today hun, hope everything goes well. xxxx

Managed to hire a wheelchair and pick it up from The Red Cross, couldn't get one from the hospital. Going to run the hoover round in a mo. Weather a bit soso, cloudy and no sunshine, it'd be lovely if the clouds seperated a bit.

We're having a very chilled day here.

Boys bedroom done, loads of washing to be done now too. Just need to run the hoover down the hall and do boys room and DD's room. Then i'll go make a start on lunch and carry on with the kitchen. :D

Have recleaned kitchen, floor has now been swept and mop bucket is currently being filled from the kettle...

Have demanked the cupboard where the stop-!!!! is. Its a tall skinny cupboard but its only about 5-6inches deep - the back panel pulls out and the water shut-off is in behind there, so generally speaking the cupboard isnt used for much, washing powder - thats about it.

But in behind the back panel bit was manky - black and full of cobwebs

So hoovered up some spiders, hoovered the kitchen and through the LR and hall to the bottom of the stairs. Am clearing the kitchen window sill at the moment and am debating on whether to Ebay some stuff or just sling it all in the CS..... Hmmmm decisions.....

The guys have been and fixed my taps now, so the water is back on and have put the hot water on, so normal service should be resumed shortly

    afternoon everyone.

ive done nothing all day long except nip the the supermarket for yogs and bread.

decided i want to try to make my own butter just for the heck of it and i bought a nice jar from asda for a quid with the rubber seal round the top like the kilner (sp) ones. thought it would be nice on my shelf with some of my many kinds of pasta in it and will free up some space in the cupboards too but first i would use it to make the butter. good job i tried it with water in there first!! its not waterproof!!!!!

i am going to dig out my kilner ones ive got stored for when i do finally get that shelf up in the kitchen otherwise my cheap HM butter with my reduced double cream will end up all over me and my kitchen!!

on the up side everything i bought today was reduced or on offer so im chuffed! got a really gorgeous sirloin steak for tea tomorrow night reduced so thats made me happy!

Gillyppk you can use a clean empty 4 pint milk carton to make the butter. Takes a lot of shaking though so I use the food processor.

If you use the milk or fizzy pop bottle then you have to cut the top off to get it out but saving the buttermilk and thorough rinsing is easier.
