They think this investigation could take up to 18 months, but my name has been added to their list.
im just saying so you dont get your hopes up. but people were saying this two years ago on this forum.
  • I have gone back and checked this.

The requirement I referred to was GISC F42.

However it seems that the Law Society took the GISC and/or OFT to court and got it overturned.

So I think the complaint is dead in the water.
  • Just a little comment. I also took out the PPI from GE via Anglian Home Improvements. Although this was in 2003,2004 and 2005. Obviously Anglian give you a huge discount for taking it. I repaid my loans 12 months after taking them and asked for repayment of the unused PPI. GE did this promptly in all three cases. I am pretty sure I could have repaid and cancelled the insurance almost straight away, but I felt guilty doing so.
  • Hi, I have seen many people have posted their issues with Anglian Windows/Barclays Partner Finance, and would like some guidance on my own.
My father took out an agreement with them in 2010 for some works. Speaking to him about it recently it appears that he could have ben mis-sold the finance plan as a 120month term (which they have the cheek to call a Gold Account!), when he did ask for a shorter term agreement to tie in with his plans for retiring. He has got a illustration which show both the 120 months & 37 month terms.

Has anyone else had the same problem or tackled Anglian/Barclays about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated as not sure on how to start this one off with them as a mis-sold finance agreement.
  • It would be Anglian as they sold it. However, you would be relying on the Consumer Credit Act 2006, not the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

FOS still has jurisdiction over this.

After 18 months, I've just received a letter form Cardif saying my claim has been 'reassessed' and an offer of redress has been made. This is after several conversations with the FOS and appeals. Once they got to the point that there was, in their view, a valid claim, the letter from Cardif came shortly afterwards.

    Moral: don't give up.
  • That's great news!
For years, I've been told that I had no claim for PPI refund from Anglian / GE / Cardiff, but I'll pick it up again now.
Can you give details ofany direct contacts at Cardiff so I can get in touch?
    Thanks...
  • I had similar claim against Safestyle, it was Cardif Pinnacle that eventually coughed up.

We also purchased windows in 2000 on gold discount the sales rep didn't explain that we was having the discount because of the ppi just if we signed I can remember it was about 8 or 9 in the night before he left and wish to god now never had the windows with them. Also the ppi was for hospital stays only not if my husband came out of work also they made me have it as even though I was not working at the time not giving an explanation of why we had to have it. We took out a loan with Halifax in the end as there was something on the news about the interest paid though Anglian windows as it was the windows which would have been about £3500 was with interest over the years would have been nearly £10000. so we cancelled but we still had to pay the ppi included in the in the final bill we had had them a year and it the amount we had to pay was £5000 so in a year it had gone up about £1500 with interest etc. I think the ppi was about £700 for the both of us as when they said amount me having them they wanted £350. How do I go about complaining to FOS as I am fed up of Anglian getting away with things. I had another instance with them that my lock broke and it was tipping with rain and had 3 small kids with me didn't have a number for Anglian so next door called a lock smith tried to claim the money back as lock smith said it was broke and Anglian turned around and said should have called them to come out. I complained to the CEO but just got a load of abuse. Not a nice company would never deal with them again and if we can get money off them I will be singing and dancing. So how do I go about it please ?????? Also don't think I got paper work and don't know who the under broker was with the ppi am I stuffed???????????? HOPE NOT
