There is no guarantee that having handed over your £146 that they will repair it anyway.

You only pay the fee once Apple have determined the iPhone can be repaired/replaced. If it can't be, you won't pay the fee.

Typically, Apple won't repair your current device, they would likely just give you a refurbished phone on the spot. Let us know how you get on.

Well guys you are never going to believe this but it's true. I am just out of the apple shop.

I went in asked a girl if I could get someone to look at my phone. She said there were no appointments. I told her I was desperate and if I waited do you think I would be seen. She spoke with her manager who said yes. They took me upstairs booked me in on standby. They took me within 5 mins and the girl told me it wasn't repairable and that my phone was under warranty even though water damage invalidates it on this occasion they would replace it.

I am sitting here with my brand new iPhone still in shock.

The staff could not have been any nicer. I couldn't thank her enough.

I am just going to buy a card and put £50 in it and take it back into the nice girl who sorted it out for me

Thank you all for your help

Great! This is typical of Apple and a big part of why I buy Apple.

I know what your saying but one act of kindness deserves another and she didn't have to do it.

It's a lovey thought my sweet, but she will not be allowed to keep the cash, or if she does and she is found it, she could be sacked. Perhaps you could ask her what charity she would like you to make a donation to instead?

I had not thought of that but it's too late. I handed card in she was on her lunch. I am sure she will think of something to do with it.

One act of kindness deserves another as she didn't have to do it. She was extremely helpful.

Glad you got it sorted, just remember to keep the handset out of the bathroom, the text or call can wait, and next time you may not be so fortunate

Yes your right. I wasn't actually using my handset at the time. It was in my back pocket and fell out ooops. But yes lesson learned.
