Help dropped iphone 4 down the toilet
Looking for advice please.
I stupidly dropped my phone down toilet. The phone went into recovery mode the next day and itunes asked me to restore it which I have done.
Everything seems to be working ok apart from the most important thing the only button on the Phone. I have to switch it on and off every time I want to do anything.
I have insurance but the excess is £200
Any techies think this can be fixed and if so where is the best place to take it please.
Thanks

Never mind that , is the toilet ok? it's not cracked or leaking or anything? The waste water is not contaminated is it? It's one thing having the water taste of p, but to taste of ip4 is definately not acceptable0

Expensive visit! Even if there was no visible water damage, they'd be able to tell when they opened it up. Bit late to try to dry it out now, so if you can't live with it, an insurance claim, even with the big excess, may be your cheapest way to get a replacement. Unless you can buy a second-hand one from somewhere.

What I am trying to dstablish is if it can be fixed as everything else fine on it. Txt email phone, internet camera all work fine.
Does apple shop do paid repairs or is there somewhere else you could recommend I take it to try and repair it first.

Apple's out of warranty service fee is only £146.44 so it's cheaper to get it fixed by Apple (you typically get a referbished replacement) than claiming on the insurance.- Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPhone that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will service your iPhone for the Out-of-Warranty Service Fee listed below.
Please note Out-of-Warranty Repair Service fees from your carrier may be different than those listed below.
iPhone Model Out-of-Warranty Service iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS,
iPhone 3G, Original iPhone £ 146.44 The Out-of-Warranty Service Fee includes a £ 7.44 shipping fee. The included shipping fee applies only if you arrange service online or by calling Apple Technical Support. All fees are in British pound sterling and include VAT. iPhone Out-of-Warranty Service may also be available from your wireless carrier. Pricing may vary.
When setting up out-of-warranty service, Apple will request credit card pre-authorisation for the maximum service fee listed above. This amount will be deducted from your credit limit. The final service fee we charge will be determined during testing and may be less than the service fee listed above.
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPhone that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.
Apple reserves the right to determine whether or not your iPhone is eligible for Out-of-Warranty service. iPhones that are repaired or replaced have a 90-day limited hardware warranty or assume the remainder of your standard warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone coverage, whichever is longer. Please see Apple's Repair Terms And Conditions for further details.
If you have an iPhone that Apple determines is not repairable, you may wish to contact your carrier for other options.

No because water damage will have voided your warranty so it's now out of warranty.
