Dry cleaning who is in the wrong ?

Needless to say I am fuming over the way she spoke to me but that is another matter at the moment. I handed in my black coat to be dry cleaned after my white dog sat on it so it was full of white hair. I didnt check the coat as I didnt have time when collecting it but got it home and it still had white hair on it. Took it back to the cleaners today to be told its not there job to remove the hair thats why they sell pet hair remover ( them lint roller things ) and that I should have removed the hair myself at home before getting it dry cleaned and that they were doing me a favour by cleaning it in the first place as they have to put it in on its own due to the pet hair. I was not told this when I handed it to be cleaned !!! so I expected my coat back cleaned free of dog hair . I paid £12 for this dry cleaning ... Who is in the wrong me or the shop ?

You sent a coat for dry cleaning because it had pet hairs on it?? What's wrong with a clothes brush?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

You paid for dry cleaning, they dry cleaned it for you. Don't think you have any cause for complaint.0

I was going to put it in for cleaning anyway as it had some stains on it.0 -

are the stains still there?
If they have been removed then they have done a reasonable job.
Dog hair is not something I would have a dry clean to remove - not least as the process is not deisnged for such removal. Hence, like you notice, they sell lint rollers.
They are REALLY cheap in Ikea if you want some...0 -

Well Dry cleaners do not guarantee to remove all stains, and they have not damaged the coat, so therefore there really isnt much you can argue on this.
And no, Dry Cleaning won't clean off pet hairs - like she says, she would only have to use a lint roller, but thats not part of the cleaning process.
Sounds like its all kicked off a bit over nothing much really...at most I guess you could ask for the dry cleaning cost back if you really feel they havent done a good job.0 -
Well did you ask when handing the coat in if the pet hairs would be removed or did they indicate they would be removed at the time you took it in?? By most of the comments I doubt it, the coat would have undergone the dry clean process so they have done their job really. Pet hairs are a pain to remove during any cleaning process and stains will not always come out. Sounds like you paid £12 expecting a lot more for your money, I would advise next time you check what they can and can not remove when you take a garment in and take it from there.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

Dry cleaning is not the same as stain removal, nor is it pet hair removal.
In fact my local dry cleaner has these priced as separate services.
Isn't this just the old problem about two people talking about the same thing but meaning different things?0 -
Surely you should be worried about the stains they haven't removed more than the dog hair?
Something doesn't quite add up here..0
