Its simply due to the fact that its an overcrowding situation, even though they are a couple, a studio is only suitable for 1 person.

    .

That's just daft - many couples live perfectly happily in studios or bedsits. It may be overcrowded after the baby's born but there's no reason to assume that this is the case at the moment.

So the only real issue here is the OP's bad cooking skills.

    Go to http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/index.shtml

    scroll down to this law:

Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.

The council are legally bound to house you. If they refuse then they are in violation of your human rights of which is criminal.

I would point this out to the council but make sure you stress that what they are doing is a criminal offence and quote those same laws to them.

You're a funny one aren't you! Did you not realise that the Universal Declaration on Human Rights is not actually enforceable in court?

Your a fool for not realising that the law states that when national law is in conflict with the law of human rights ,national law shall be set aside. Meaning it takes president over national law.

If your claim was true then how come the council backed down and upped my rent allowance and backdated it 2 years? :D
how come when you argue these laws in court the case settles out of court? Just saying.

Study law and cases that go through the court before you comment on things of which you no nothing about.

Love the username red shoes, in Glasgow we use the phrase "fur coat, nae knickers" to describe people who act as if they have money but don't. It's also applied to people from certain areas for the same reason.

Not being daft, its my job (not being daft,I mean housing)

In most circumstances a studio flat is for 1 person. No where have I said that other people-couples- cant have a good standard of living in a studio flat. It still doesnt change the fact that they are overcrowded.

When baby is born, they would be classed as severely overcrowded as lacking 2 or more bedrooms.

I am sure OP cooking skills are refined enough to prepare a healthy meal 3 times a day.
