First thought is what on earth are you thinking, having a child when you apparently live in squalor and poverty?? Who do you rent your current home from, why are do you only have one room and have you considered actually moving? £13k a year isn't that low, you should be taking home roughly £1k a month. Does your partner work? Is she in receipt of any benefits? What reason did the council give for turning down your application? You'll need to give clear, concise information if you want more help. English is clearly not your first language (I hope!) so ask someone to check your posts for clarity. You should then get more help here.0

Can you give any reasons why you were turned down? maybe you need help with your application. In the mean time find a better place to live it sounds horrendous where you are.. even if the council accept your application you may have to wait a long time for a place , depending on where in the country you are...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Your best bet is to move out of London to someone where accomodation is much cheaper and easier to find.0

It depends where in London, to be honest. There is a world of difference between Central London and one of the outer boroughs. OP, have you actually applied for LHA or used the Turn to Us benefits checker to see if you are entitled to any help?Any help or advice?
Try answering some of the question I posed! You are being way too vague, getting information out of you is like pulling teeth.0 -
Why not rent a 1 bedroom flat then? cheaper than a 2 bed but better than 1 room.0

You could apply for tax credits although, if you're under 25, you won't be able to get them until the baby's born. Does your wife/partner work?0

THEY said i can't get anything like housing benefit before the baby is born.im british citizen always working working since 2002. any advice welcome .0 -
If i leave my 13k year job i will be on top council priority list with free house ; get more financial help . Being hard working person like me don't get any help in this country? All london borough private house rent is very very high because many people get money from government to pay the rent.people with 30k to 50k year job took most affordable rent with new build houses from housing association in london.0
