  • I have had flu since my last post, which was horrible but had its plus points - it saved me a fortune on food and I've reached my weight loss goal! Still would rather have not had the flu. Anyway, back to menu planning - I am cooking slightly different meals for me and my OH this week as I am doing a light detox to reboot my system (cutting out wheat, dairy, red meat).

Breakfast for me every day is homemade meusli with oats, rice flakes, seeds, nuts and dried cranberries and blueberries, with soya milk.

Lunch for me every day will be homemade vegetable and lentil soup

    Monday:

Me - Vegetable and Lentil Curry (makes 2 portions - freeze one)
OH - Steak, Jacket Potato, leeks from the garden

    Tuesday:

Me - Salmon (from freezer), brown rice, grilled veg (pepper, courgette, red onion, mushrooms)
OH - Salmon, sauteed potatoes, grilled veg

    Wednesday:

Me - Brown rice with grilled vegetables (as yesterday)
OH - Sausage, mash and beans

    Thursday:

Me - Chicken and rice stew (from the freezer)
OH - Beef Stew (from freezer), jacket potato and veg

    Friday:
Me - Prawn (from the freezer) Salad
OH - Pork chop (from freezer), roasties and veg

    Saturday:

Dads 50th Birthday - going out for Thai (Can't really afford it but could hardly say no!)

    Sunday:

    Dinner at OH's parents
    October grocery challenge(started 17/10/07):
    Asda - £11.98
    Aldi - £10.36

Parking pot: £1.00 (everytime I walk into town instead of parking on pay and display, I put the money saved in a jar)
