Also these meal plans are only for evening meals. I sometimes eat 2-3 pieces of fruit for breakfast.0 -
thriftlady wrote:Bulchy my lentil flan is something I make up as I go along, so no exact recipe I'm afraid, but this is roughly how it goes.
Make pastry and line a flan dish/tin.
Cook a mugful of red lentils with some water until they are soft and mushy.
Combine with lots of grated cheese, dried herbs, chopped onion/leeks, a squirt of tomato paste and a teaspoonful of marmite.
Pile into the flan case and bake for 20-25 mins at about 200 (you might need to cover the filling with foil - or you could bake the pastry first with baking beans)
Lentil and cheese loaf is basically the same thing but without the pastry and with breadcrumbs added to make it stiffer. Bake in a loaf tin or shape into a loaf shape on a baking tray.
This sounds delicious, and something my family would definitely like, minus the marmite, as my daughter doesnt like it.
Thanks for posting.

As I put previously I don't stick to specific days or we get bored, I know the night before which I have chosen. Got this weeks sorted now and a shopping list of things I need to go with it.
Most things are just for me and DP, seperate things for the boys already sorted if we are having something they won't/can't have. In fact with one DS there is only one meal he will eat the same all week, oh the joys of being a Mam.
Gone for a couple of meals that will be the quick and easy option, can't play master chef every day.
Lasagne with garlic bread & veg
Burrittos with onion rings & chips
Mince and yorkshires with roast potatoes & veg
Sausage casserole with mash & veg
Beef stew with dumplings & potatoes possibly(veg in the stew of course)
Burgers, beans & chips
Prawn curry with rice
Lunches inc soups, broth, toasties and sandwiches with fruit. Fruit and dried fruit snacks through the day. Breakfast either fruit & yoghurt, cereals with fruit or toast. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

We eat our 5 fruit/veg per day and some are hidden:D
We always have apple or orange juice with breakfast. Have a piece of fruit or 2 through the day, the 2-3 veg with evening meal. If I have a sarnie or a baked spud at lunch, we always have salad;)
We do only buy fruit/veg thats seasonal or heavily reduced.

Got to be low on cheese cos mum has to have low fat diet, she doesnt like eggs and wont eat pasta. Oh joy!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
