Naughty Council

Hi all long time poster here, got a question which could be a bit incriminating so I've set up a new profile to post on this occasion...
I claim housing benefit and the council I'm with, whom I wont name, have phoned me and asked if I received the letter they sent a few days ago.
I said I had, and that it was something to do with new rules mean they're paying me a small amount less for housing benefit as of October.
They confirmed thats the letter, and that its wrong and they need to collect it by hand.
At this point I knew there was a problem of some sort, but I thought it was something I'd done wrong.
Anyway, on checking the letter, I noticed that not only have they sent me the letter, on the back of it theyve sent the same letter with someone elses details! No wonder they want the letter back!!!
Who thinks I should just give it back to them, and who thinks I should kick up a bit of a stink?
Cheers!

So why exactly would you want to 'kick up a bit of a stink'? What purpose would it serve?0 -

It wouldn't really serve any purpose, which is why I'm wondering whether to bother.
What I DO know is that if the council had a problem with me, and not the other way round, they'd be quick enough to get onto my case about it...0 -

Thats true, and its another reason why I'm wondering whether to really be too bothered about it.
But at the end of the day, they obviously see it as very serious, hand collecting letters is hardly a common practise.0 -
Red_Shoes_No_Knickers wrote: »Well beany, if you're not bothered, I'm not sure why you are asking the question?
To be honest I don't know if I'm bothered or not!
The letter does, after all, have someone elses private details on it. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want me to know about his private affairs.0 -
and the award for the most pointless thread goes to...0
