I have also been had... 15 years online & the bulk of my purchasing is done this way, and this is the first time this has happened to me... totally suckered :(
I ordered a Dyson, paid by Mastercard through Google checkout. Delivery was supposed to be today, but guess what?
I've just rung the bank, and they said I am definitely covered, and a member of the fraud team will call me back within 24hrs (hopefully this evening)... hopefully this will be resolved asap...
  • I went to Hsbc on Thursday and logged this a payment dispute, I have recived a full refund of £330 in my account today.

Feel like a right mug getting scammed but glad to get my money back.
  • Hi. Another newbie I'm afraid - also lost out on a PS3.

I tried reporting to Google Checkout but unlike others in this post I didn't receive a Google Checkout number in the order confirmation. Am I the only one?

Also tried contacting Barclays as I made the payment on debit card. They say I have to wait 30days after the date of purchase before logging the dispute. Has this happened to anyone else??

Really appreciate any help. What a way to spend a Friday night!

Hi buddy, Im basically in the same situation as you. What i would recommend is you report this on the actionfraud website which you can find with a quick google. Contact Google checkout as well and they will do their bit. Fact of the matter is we have all been scammed. But if we take the right course of action I see no reason why us lot should be of pocket because of some criminal/criminals! I'm fully expecting a refund and I will do all I can to get it!
  • I bought a Canon Powershot G12 on 8th July 2011 from ebuy4u and I paid for it straight away. I got this confirmation:

Thanks for buying from Ranis Fashions Ltd (ebuy4u.com) using Google Checkout! Ranis Fashions Ltd (ebuy4u.com) will charge and ship your order soon.

I received another e-mail confirming my delivery date as the 19th of July. I found this slightly annoying since that's 11 days after purchasing the item. I called them up and spoke to a guy requesting faster delivery for my order. He said we've attached an urgent note with the order and you should get it by the 15th of July.

I didn't get it on the 15th so I sent another email and they replied by saying we apologize and your new delivery date is the 20th of July. 20th of July went past. Nothing.

More emails. No replies. The phone has also been disconnected. These people are scammers. After having gone through this discussion I can't believe I've given £300 of my hard earned money to these liars.

I've opened a case with google checkout and I have to wait 5 days until I know what's going on.

I'll bloody make google pay if I don't get my money back since it was google's shopping search for a Canon Powershot G12 which directed me to this website and the website used google's checkout service.

    I can't believe this.
  • Thanks for the advise Webbo - will give action fraud a go and see what happens.

Still struggling to see how to log my dispute with Google checkout without having the 15 digit code (couldn't see on ebuy4u confirmation email). Nothing in my Google Checkout history either. Wondered if anyone else had the same?

Would be interested to hear how those who've paid with Barclays visa debit get on.

    Good luck all

Please could you tell us who you have been tasked by? Google Checkout? Or a bank? The fraud squad? You do not make it clear who you are, or who you work for. A bit of explanation would help us all - but we would love you to help out!

I agree... I have a legitimate order, but am not prepared to give out information to just anyone... that info has gone to my credit card company & Google...
