Hi midnightraven, like you I do most online. Can I ask what was so good about this company compared to the regular supermarkets? I did not see a short time slot to wait in for delivery, for example. And the range was small.
I must have missed something!
Thanks0 -
their customer service was excellent
i ordered something that was later found to be OOS
they emailed me with 2 alternatives to choose, or to leave them out completely
everything was packed well
i couldnt do my weekly shop, but to stock up on certain things, definately great
order came this morning, i can see why a lot of people would be put off not having an hour, or 2 delivery slot
but as i am in all day it didnt worry me at all0 -
Just received my first order from them today. I'm very impressed with the quality of the veg etc. Even adding P&P charges, all in all I got a great deal re. value, quality and price.
Mostly I find delivery charges cancel out most bargains and as a rule I tend to favor, obviously free deliver, but also look out for spend over a certain amount deals ie spend £30 free shipping. That said, the order I received from Rosspa had been packed with so much care and attention, I really can not grumble and if this standard maintained, I will certainly be back for more. :beer:0 -
I just did a trial run of a Rosspa shop of just fruit n veggies and put the same/substitute for nearest weight through Tesco.
Rosspa came out at £23.20 :money:
Tesco came out at £38.82
For all those saying the delivery charges are too high I suggest you do the same - I know where I'll be buying from now!!Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

We put in a delivery with Rosspa this week. There's 2 of us to feed, since we moved in together 4 months ago we've been doing our online shopping with one of the big 4 depending on where we can get the best money off (e.g. £10 off a £50 shop) as we don't have a car and lugging a weeks shopping home is awful. However we have been consistently disappointed with both the price and quality of the fruit, veg and meat we get - I know when it's someone else picking you're not necessarily going to get the juiciest looking strawbs but even when we've been in store they don't look that great. Plus the general feeling of un-ease at getting all our food from the big supermarkets rather than smaller, independant businesses.
Anyway, the rosspa delivery was great! As we don't need enough to push us to the £11 delivery, the £5.50 was only £2 more than we usually pay which was v.quickly absorbed by the reductions (e.g. 5 x red peppers @ 39p each compared to 80p elsewhere!! I hate how much peppers cost ggrr) Quality of the fresh stuff is a million times better than what we'd got from the supermarkets. Plus, where we live is secure so the delivery just got left round the back of the house which is actually more convenient than having to make sure someone was in at a set time. As people have said the packing was done with great care, all 30 of the eggs survived (and I didn't pay much more for them than what you pay for 6 in a supermarket) lol.
Will def be using them again, hopefully the standards wont slip as time goes by, think our delivery was only number 1000 and something so still early days for them.0 -
I have a question about the delivery - Do you need to sign for it? I have to work in the week and can't take a day off to receive an order, I do have a shared hallway that i wouldn't mind them leaving the delivery in, but no sure if this is possible?Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270 -
No you don't have to be in if you have a safe place the parcel could be left as it says in their FAQ:
http://www.rosspa.co.uk/faqs-z-17.htmlI work Monday to Friday and nobody is home to receive a delivery. What can I do?
We can deliver to your place of work. Just change the delivery address during checkout to that of your workplace or even a friend or relatives house. You can also authorise us to leave it somewhere secure at your home such as behind a side gate, or in a wheelie bin if nobody will be in. Leave any instructions of this nature in the 'Special Instructions' box at the bottom of the checkout page.0
