too expensive with the delivery. Alot of the stuff you can pick up in poundland, savers etc anyway.
I agree, they also claim to be "The UK's cheaper Online Grocery Store" We have the likes of Poundland, Lidl, Netto and Aldi that are even cheaper and have plenty more variety and products.0 -

Unfortunately missed the delivery so had to trek to the depot to get it. 1 item was not in stock so wasn't charged for that, I would have preferred to have had the chance to make another choice tbh but that's life. I ordered some strawberries and blueberries, which unfortunately didn't survive the journey so well, and everything now is nice and sticky. Generally happy though
if anyone has tried the mince - how fatty is it?
Another one with leaky strawberries here. Everything was soaked & sticky. Only received 5 tomatoes, instead of 6. Had to throw all the greengagers away as they were very, very ripe (were hard to pick up, they were that squishy) & tasted awful.0 -

Not everyone has access to shops like Poundland & Savers etc... For me getting to the nearest Poundland would involve a 7 hour round trip with 2 buses each way & hours of waiting around for connections. Getting to Aldi, Netto or Savers would require an overnight stay in a B&B as there is no way to get there & back in the same day using public transport unless I was willing to pay out £25 for a taxi for the last 12 miles of the journey home. Lidl is more convenient as it is just a 4 hour round trip using the local bus service.
In any case none of those shops have an online service. They may all have websites that tell you what a great variety of products they have on offer but that is no help whatsoever if you are unable to actually purchase the items you want. Rosspa will deliver to those people that can't get the same items elsewhere at the same or lower prices the other shops mentioned won't.0 -

How about "The nearest cheaper online grocery store"?
You are unfortunate (or fortunate) to be living so isolated, i suspect it will be a matter of time before at least one of these stores show up on your door step. However, there are plenty of these stores about with easy access for the majority of people in the UK.
Home Bargains have an online shop - www.homebargains.co.uk and it will be matter a time before Aldi and Lidl do home deliveries
Also, if you want fresh fruit and veg, you can have them delivered first thing in the morning by your local Milk Man www.milkandmore.co.uk/home0 -

My faves to stock up when I go are broken biscuits as the kids love them. When I last went I did mention to my hubby how they seemed to carry a lot of the same lines as approved food so I will go there instead of paying postage.life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0

I was well aware of the availability or lack thereof of shops & the inadequate public transport when I chose to move here although I wouldn't describe the area as isolated.
Milk&more don't deliver here & they are not exactly cheap, I can get fruit & veg at wholesale prices locally.
Homebargains have a somewhat limited range of stock & the majority of the things on their website are cheaper elsewhere. The range of food & drink on their website seems to be limited to a few boxes of chocolates as opposed to actual food & drink so they don't really qualify as a grocery store obviously stock may differ instore however it would be a very long journey to make on the offchance they had something I wanted to purchase.
Before you start on the supermarkets I should point out there is no Asda, Sainsbury or Waitrose in the area so obviously they don't deliver. There is a Tesco but they don't deliver here & hardly anyone chooses to shop there anyway as they were not wanted in this area. Iceland (although not an online service) offer home delivery but only within a 10 mile radius of the store so again they can't deliver to me.
Finding online grocery stores that deliver in this area can be pretty tricky although of course amazon does groceries now & some of their prices are reasonable, I haven't purchased groceries from them before but may do at some point.0 -

I have just checked the items on website and they are the same as what's on sale in their farmshop. So unless they are distributing straight from their warehouse?!0 -

What is the chicken like? I just can't afford supermarket prices for chicken (unless someone can point me in the direction of some offers?)Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270 -
The strawberries are so, so good  Lovely & juicy & so much tastier than supermarket-bought ones.0
