Orange non delivery of emails

However if it is Hotmail specific I have found them extremely aggressive at spam filtering and other than suggesting a better email service to people there is nothing you can do !0

Hi retiredatlast
Once we became aware of the issue we put information to this effect on our Service Status line on 0845 330 7124. I'm sorry that further information may have been slow to emerge on this matter, however, I can certainly let you know when I receive any further update.
Thanks!

Orange email failed last Thursday and has become as useless as their customer service.
My emails have almost completely dried up. Sent numerous emails from my workplace/company email account yesterday to my Orange account so that I could keep an eye on the problem and if has been fixed. 2 out of 11 got through.
Sent 5 this morning and 1 got through.
I am logging onto the Orange website to check my email and they are not showing.
Numerous emails sent to me over the last few days of which non have been received.
Having had the same email address for 9 years I am loathe to change but I do not see any other option.
How can they allow an email server to be down for 6 days ???
TIME TO DUMP ORANGE !!0 -
To be honest I have had no problems at all receiving emails it is just that I can not sent to Msn or hotmail ( well I can sent it's just they don't get there !!! ) and this is the problem that Orange appear to be aware of .
Has anyone else had a problem receiving their emails on a Orange address ( including of course the old freeserve and wanawhatever addresses ) ?0 -
Hi Flybywire
Our servers are not down, however, some emails sent through our outgoing email servers might not be reaching their destinations, as they have been temporarily blocked by the recipient's email providers. This has been escalated to the highest level and we hope to have an update on this by the end of the week.
If you are experiencing problems when receiving email, this would seem to be a separate issue. Have you checked your Anti-spam settings and Junk Mail folder via our website, in case some emails have been redirected into there? If you continue to have issues with incoming email, I would advise to contact Customer Support so that they can look into this further.
I hope this helps!

Darren
I have just sent 4 emails, one with a picture, one with a PDF attachment, one with a jpeg attachment and one pjust text, from my workplace to my orange email account (Freeserve).
I CC'd the emails to my BTemail address that I had to take when I signed up for Broadband with them.
Just checked the webmail on both accounts. The BT account shows all four in the inbox, Orange shows nothing!
This has been going on since last Thursday!!
Very unhappy with Orange!!!0 -
Hi Flybywyre
As Darren mentioned earlier today this is a different issue to the one originally raised by retiredatlast. You have not mentioned in your response whether you have checked your anti-spam settings and junk mail folders. It may be that any emails are being filtered by either. Have you tried contacting our Customer Support Team to advise that you are having these problems? They will be able to offer advice relevant to your particular case.
I hope this helps!

Darren and Laura thank you for your replies............
Yes I have checked spam settings etc and everything is fine.
20 minutes ago I sent the same 4 test emails and exactly the same has happened. They arrive at my BT account almost immediately yet nothing shows on my Orange account. Not even test emails sent yesterday and Monday.
They are not hitting your server, or if they are your server is not displaying them.
I hae spoken to customer services who inform me that they have had many calls from people with the same problem. They were unable to tell me when the problem would be resolved.
That is not good enough, especially when you consider this started last Thursday.0 -
Hi retiredatlast, I've been told that the blocks placed on our servers by other providers are now being removed and test emails sent to Hotmail have been successfully delivered. Please could you try sending an email to one of your contacts and see if it is received ok?
Flybywyre, I've checked with our technical guys and they're not aware of an issue affecting incoming email at the moment. I'd be happy to make some further enquiries regarding your issues, if you can give me your account details? We can't accept PMs on here, but if you visit our Facebook page via the link on our MSE profile, you can send us a private message through there if you'd like.
I hope this helps!
